I ama master politician so this really does not effect me that bad, but I happened to be scrolling down in the 'my experience' window of the skill interface when I noticed my xp was capped at +60000, I know I should have a lot more than that stored because we have 60+ people in my city and I have won every election since I became the third mayor while ago by 100% of the votes. I have lost track of when I hit master but I know it was some 2 or so months ago if not longer.

All experience points in the game are capped according to your highest skill boxes. I know example from when I was a 3/4/4/4 Swordsman that my 2handed xp capped at 900,000 (twice the 450k required for the last box).

The same is true for politician xp. It's hard capped at 60k which is the most you can ever accumulate (even though you do continue winning elections). You can use this as a buffer if ever you need to drop skill points (for whatever reason) and then pick them back up again. If you do use the xp points this way, at the next election cycle you start accumulating xp again until you hit this limit.

Be careful though in doing this is the amount of accumulated xp is capped to the "highest" available unused skill box, so for example, if you dropped to say 4/4/4/1, and then placed a streetlight and then trained in civic 2, you would loose some xp (this may of changed but it did happen to me once).
