Citizen Tax - A non mandatory tax charged to every citizen of the city. The money is automatically removed from the player's bank. If the player can't pay, the mayor is notified of the delinquent payment.

Ok... I get the definition but I have two questions.

1. Is it done off a set amount done by the mayor... if so what's the max amount you can tax them?

2. Is this more efficent then the property tax, cause I see alot of people only doing the property tax.

citizen tax is any amount from 0-2000cr. It is taken the first time someone logs in after the city cycles for the week. Some politicians report that the taxes are taken radomly from each person each week, though I firmly believe that it happens when you log in for the 1st time after the city cycles. If you do not have the citizen tax available in your bank account, it isnt taken from you. Ie....no negative amounts in your bank account. So....if you want to avoid the tax, just keep all your cash in your wallet/purse/mattress. With 100+ citizens a 2000cr tax brings in a tidey sum of cash. It allows me to provide more street lamps and such as well as reduce the rate of taxation for other things.

Like all taxe schemes....it is a matter of balance.

I think Hadrian has it about right.

One thing I'll add though... it says somewhere (too lazy to look it up right now) that if a citizen fails to pay the tax (ie, doesn't have enough in their account) the Mayor gets an email indicating that citizen failed to pay their tax.

No Mayor I know has ever actually received this email.
