City's should be able to be "officially" set up in one oftwo ways; A Dictatorship, or a Democracy. And each should have it's inherant pros and cons. A Democracy would be ruled by the people and popular vote. And a Dictatorship would give the Mayor ultimate rule.
Let me know what you think.
You should seethe sister post to this... "An idea to get people to the ballot box every week... "

The current situation may look like a democracy, but it is a dictatorship.
If you are lucky to have a good mayor you simply have a benevolent dictatorship. If you have someone running against the mayor you have the party and a half system, which is not really a democracy either.

This is no democracy, its a dictatorship propped up by entropy and sloth.

The only democracy is voting the mayor itself... everything else is dictatorship... how that person plays it makes a difference. personally I think it would be best that a city hall cannot be destroy unless ran out of money or citizens. ![]()

Yeah I agree with that, once placed a city hall can't be removed except by lack of citizens. If you want to get rid of it, you can't destroy it, you have to get the population to uproot and/or revoke citizenship.

In a way it's a democracy because people always vote with their feet. If the mayor is a jerk, then people will leave and go join better towns...

Now, now, dictators are cruel some of us are nice mayors so I'd say more of a monarchy. Ruling by divine right of skill points

I think you should be able to chose between a monarchy-type and democracy so I definately Agree. They should make it so that you chose between these two when you first place the City Hall PA.
