Thread: Noob Mayor Question

Hopefully someone can help us answer this problem. Our current mayor wants to step down from him post ASAP. With that said, we are having a hard time getting all of our ppl online in timeto vote for a new mayor.
My question is, if the current mayor steps down... will the other mayoral candidate running against him become the mayor? Can our current mayor even do this? Can the current mayor resign his position by surrendering his politician skills perhaps? Or can a new mayor only come into power thru a vote???
Does anyone have any experience with how to handle this matter? The problem is our city has grown so large by now that we are having a tough time getting everyone to vote for the new mayor in time for the updates. Any help or comments on this will be greatly appreciated.

There is no way currently to step down from the Mayor position, even if you drop all your politician skills. The only way to do it is to try and get a majority of your citizens online and cast their votes for the new guy before the end of the next election.
This is a serious problem that needs to be fixed, but it doesn't look like we're going to get any love from the devs soon.

Damn, we were afraid of this. Thanx for the quick response Xendro. I'll go back and report the bad news...
This definitely needs to get fixed. It leaves you in a really tight spot as you level your city up and need to mobilize your citizenry or if someone suddenly leaves game for an extended period of time.

I took over when our current mayor wanted to move on. The force was on our side, however, as we got several current players to sign on an vote - but not half... We did happen to get an influx of new citizens when a new guild moved into our city - and that took us over the edge. It was a fast, clean transition.

We had the same problem. But the good news is you get to level up while waiting on becoming the mayor you can level up with the little votes you get. So when you FINALLY get to be mayor you can handle all of the items in your city.
