back before the game existed, and everything was either news released by SOE, or speculation from gaming news sites, there was mention of player cities. it was said by SOE at some point, or perhaps LucasArts that player city policiticians would have the ability to move buildings around and rearrange their city. this is something that is VITAL to a lot of is, and moving stuff around by hand requires help from people who live in the city...and takes far too much time, especially if they have decorated their house extravagantly.

is this still planned or being worked on? i was looking forward to this if it is. if it isnt being considered at this point...could it be considered for the near future? say publish 7/8/9/10, somewhere around that time?

thanks.

Don't hold your breath.

When this was discussed.. it pretty much concluded that this would be a major griefing tool, rather than a planning convenience. So what a few would do, the rest of us are penalized for....

The answer is better planning - just like in real life, a Mayor cannot easily go and knock down people's houses - they have to rely on having a good plan in the first place!

Also, only cities will be lots of fake/ghost citizens will be affected by this - I have over 130 citizens and I never had a problem getting someone to move something if we need it moved.

the people in our city decorate pretty elaborately. we have already moved the city twice trying to maintain enough building space to house people as we grow. we went from tatooine, to dantooine because of the cap, to lok because of a lack of room. it was enough trouble the first 2 times to know that noone wants to do it again.

this is NOT a griefing tool.guess what, if a politician moves someones house to grief someone, then the person that owned that house is gonna move...and they are going to lose that citizen. who cares.

being a politician was one of the major reasons i decided to play this game period, but its just not what it was announced to be...guess that removes the need for 1 of 3 accounts i have.

if it is used for griefing -- that is why a mayor needs to be voted in...

Actually, that was supposed to be the purview of the proposed elite-elite class, "Urban Planner", which was supposed to be accessible through architect.

I think it should be implemented, and it is NOT a griefing tool: Just require a /consent from the building's owner to move it around.

That easy.
