The inactivity rule may actually be a blessing! For one thing, our city lost about 14 out of 55 citizens. This really hurt since we are just holding onto our level 4 city status by our fingernails. The blessing part of this is we were able to get rid of a lot of inactive people. With just the active players remaining, it is now possible for me to win the weekly election and take over as the Mayor of our city. The loss of the inactive citizenshas also gotten the attention of our citizens they are working hardon increasing our citizenship. I am not sure if we will get back to 55 before the end of the week but at least I am now seeing that people actually care. If anything is good at keeping a Mayor around it certainly is seeing that there is life to their city.

I can see how it might be a good thing, but there's still the problem with the houses. Please, someone somewhere give us a way to deal with inactive houses.

Yes, I think that it is a great rule that will help genuine Player Cities - only exploiters with ghost citizens need to worry.
We lost 6 out of 153 citizens to the rule - not a problem for a city that just keeps on growing!

The 6-week rule is fine. I have no trouble bringing fresh citizens into my metro.
But the House-Turds left behind by inactive citizens have to be delt with.

My guild was helped by this as well. We have about 200 members and were located in two cities - one on Talus and one on Dantooine. Our preference was to be on Naboo or Corellia but they been at cap some time. Well since the 6-week inactivity rule has been thinning out some of the less active towns, some have consolidated, and others are going away. We even found one person nice enough to pull up his city hall so we can place ours, and he is moving in with us and our guild
This rule is not as bad as people thought. If we get a solution for inactive houses I suppose that will make you all happy, but this is a start. Player cities should be for active, robust groups

Quick update.Heavens Gatemade it back to the 55 player limit before the deadline. Yahoo. I lost the election because noone told the new citizens to vote but this is a good thing since the current mayor has had a change of heart and wishes to retain the position. I walk away from this with amuch clearer understanding of what it takes to supportour city and keep it running. I may not be Mayor but I will certainly make sure all citizens do their part.BeingMayoris not an easy joband what makes it worse is there arenot any perks.
