Thread: CITY COMMANDS ARE SO STUPID!!!!
Today, this new town that sprang up south of my town, I go decide to check this out so i hop on my swoop bike and race down there.
Battle's End was the name of it and it was a township. I explored the town and went around checking the places. I stopped in the cantina to get rid of my battle fatigue (because i had some) and i give the musician100 bucks. I went outside and explored and I saw the rest of the town and i think it was a zabrak that was riding in on his bike and i kept running through town and right before i left, i got the Banned message.
I GOT BANNED FOR NO REASON!!!
I got Banned from 3 cities already
This should be taken out of the game permenantly because /cityban is being used as a grefier tool and not for its actual use.
I mean if you ban everyone from the city except the residence, your gonna have a limited market everyone outside your town might retaliate and try to kill you.Residence in yout town will get mad and nobody will wanna loive in your town.
Just because were on different sides means i cant use your cantina or cloning facilityETC.
I was covert at the time
Battles end belong's to the federation of honor and imp townwhere no matter who you are, you always get an outlaw treatment.
It is not a greifer tool. If they don't want anyone in there city then that is how they choose to live. Just cause you are covert doesn't mean they never seen you fighting on one side or the other. Maybe they don't want Imperials in there city. It was used as intented. To keep people they don't want in there city out. Just cause you find it wrong, doesn't mean the mayor of that city does. You run your city one way, don't try to run other peoples city as well. Everyone has a different idea for there city. Let em play it that way.
If the Emperor never had any of this then why have storm Troopers all over the place in his area of control. See he just shoots first then throws your body out of the city. Well /cityban is the next best thing.

ummmm how exactly is it griefing? So you get /citybanned and you cant use THEIR town's civic buildings. Please explain where the griefing part comes in?
ok you walkin into a city someone sees you then
OH WHAT BANNED!!!!
what did you do
NOTHING!!!

yes yes yes, you have explained all that. Still waiting for you decribe how you where griefed tho.
If you have been banned from 3 cities, it makes me wonder if you are doing something to deserve that.
But that aside, it sounds more like you are visiting towns of the opposite faction of you. In some manner, they are able to determine that you support a particular side (examining you and seeing a badge for one side or the other perhaps?)
I'f I were a factioned town, and I was able to tell you were of the opposite faction, I'd slap you with the ban stick too. Your cover's been blown and you are no longer welcome there.
This is not griefing. It's also possible they just recognize you as part of the opposite faction from prior engagements especially if you pvp.
Faction towns should ban early and ban often. Why on earth would they want to support the other side? even coverts! You are just using their resources against them
Do you think it could perhaps have something to do with a reputation that you or your friends might have garnered somewhere???

Buddy, you weren't griefed.
Ask sometime about the cloner-loop abuse that got /citywarn tossed out. THAT was griefing.
This is not griefing. You had no reason to be in this city, and so they bannedyou.
If the city takes this approach with everyone, eventually their economy will fail, but that is there choice.
They democratically elected mayor has been given the power to do this - if you do not like it, do not go there.
I have never been banned from a player city, on the contrary, on visiting a city and asking to see the mayor they are often happy to come and meet me and tell me about their city (admittedly, I know many of the mayors of the big cities because I'm the mayor of a metropolis).
However, if my militia see someone who is acting suspiciously, and refuses to talk to them, they will sometimes follow that person and if they do not respond to greetings and tells, they will ban them and send them an email explaning that this has been done for security reasons and that the ban will be lifted when they show some manners and explain why they refused to respond when greeting.
This has happened on 3 occasions. In 2 cases, they were people from opposing guilds just coming to spy. In one case, someone was having connection problems, but is now a citizen of the city - claiming to be impressed by our level of security.
The galaxy is a big place - if someone does not want you in their city, you are obviously an undesireable!
