I am not technically a Politician anymore... having stepped down a couple of weeks ago, but I thought you should all know this.

Our city experienced a number of citizen removals over the last few days. While some may be legit, at least one of the characters removed plays with us EVERY SINGLE DAY! His account is not inactive, let alone inactive for 6 weeks.

The most amazing thing is the attitude of customer support when our Mayor contacted them. Basically they told him he can't even file a ticket for it... he has to email the effected players and have them do it.

Now is it only me that thinks citizenship issues are clearly the realm of the Mayor... and that clear and obvious BUGS with the city management code directly effect the Mayor?

If this can happen with characters that play all the time, what do think the chances are that it isn't riddled with problems for less frequent players?

Anyway, i'm getting close to calling it quits on this Bug fest... but wanted the Mayors out there to be aware that there are problems.... check the names of those removed, and I suggest you try to contact them to make sure they realy dont play.

yep thx it has already happened to other mayors. The devs are bringing in a hot fix so unless your on 24/7 you get kicked out, that way next week we all lose all our citizens but they can say the code worked as intended. hehe kidding.

The 6-week inactivity rule also ferrets out Dual Citizens. That is to say, the active individual was still a citizen of a different city. If you do a little checking, you will find the the active individual was also recently lost as a citizen to the city he/she was in previously. In this instance, it is just a matter of the individual going to their house and re-declaring, and possible, just stepping into their house in your city. If the latter is the case, they will get a message stating that they are have already declared as a resident of this house. Also, they will quietly be returned to full citizen status. The mayor will not get an e-mail about it. This is a one time deal, and will not happen again for this individual.
