Thread: With the travel update, will Rori and Talus see more player cities?

Refering to the information I heard about all starports linking to every planet, I'm curious if we'll see more cities grow to rank IV and beyond on outer planets, especially Talus and Rori. Lok, too, to an extent.

I love Rori and Talus, but even after this update, I wonder if there will be much of a reason to go to them rather than going to Dantooine or a core planet to live.

In short NO.

The player base in the game is not growing it is shrinking. You can see this by whats going on with the innactivity rule. There simply are not enough players who wish to live in cities to make large cities possible on all planets. Maybe after the space expanssion if people come back to the game but not at the moment.

Well, on Chilastra Talus is populated enough already. 5 or 6 rank 4 cities.

Best way to deal with the tall guys is to give them incentives to lick the ground. And dont look down on me that way youre not THAT taller.

My guild had a thriving city on Talus (~90 residents) but due to the inactivity rule a lot of cities have fallen and we were able to move into a spot on Naboo which has worked out very well for us

I do like Talus a lot though. It is a nice planet. Just wish the generic house styles weren't so damn ugly.

By the way, the reason I asked was because my city is going to be dissolving and we're going to merge the PA into another town.

We're currently on Corellia (town is Halcyon), and I hate the houses too... Rori is one of the coolest looking planets on Corellia, but on Valcyn, there are only 2 player cities there, and I just didn't get a strong feeling that we'd see any more people than we'd see in Northern Corellia.

Ours was the last rank IV city in Northern Corellia on Valcyn, off the Western border of the Agrilat Swamp. I figured we'd be moving to Dantooine, because of its hunting and popularity, but we are now more than likely going to end up in a great city in Southern Corellia. So... more ugly houses for us!

The most painful thing is that this comes litterally moments away from April 1st. I've been waiting months preparing my prank on the town... I was going to renamethe town"Hsojville" and send out a city-wide email announcing my supremacy.

I'm really going to miss being a politician, but there are other roles to take on the council, and rebuilding our PA is now a top priority that I can actually focus on.

Plus, the return of the skill points will be nice

But yeah, thanks for the feedback. I hadn't really a strong feeling that even after the update, Rori and Talus traffic would see a major increase. For my group and what we need now, it's just not the answer.

Hehe ugly houses for you all

Kind of sad that it has to be that way. I must say though, as far as a planet to actually "live" on Talus was really nice. Would be nicer with changes in Starship routes. I have been on this game since June 26th and I can't comment on Rori because I think I been there only twice. It is the most remote planet of all. You cannot get to Rori without going through Naboo and if you live on Talus or Dantooine that means -->Corellia-->Naboo-->Rori. Kind of a pain. Hopefully we will see more thriving cities on the outer planets

No and I will add another reason why.

We are creatures of habit. Coronet will still be the center of the universe. People will go there to buy buffs, get equipment sliced, sell, purchase or heal before traveling off to Yavin, Endor, Dathomir, etc, etc.

The only thing it will do is maybe save the cities that are already there on those planets and attact those individuals that thought about moving there but didn't like the shipping routes

I will use a respec and become an entertainer again,
pull out my last pet from my creature handler days
and dance in an empty cantina in Mos Espa and disconnect from the game forever.

I have lived on Talus since the server went live, and must admit I (and most of the others I play with) find it very hard to think of living anywhere else.

Of late we seem to be getting quite a few refugees coming from the more populated planets, and all of them seem to concur that the lesser populated planets make the game more interesting from a social aspect.

The introduction of the shuttle changes will be a huge boon for us, and I hope to see Talus and the other remote moons grow in size and population - but not too much as I think it would badly affect the "homely" feel that the planet has.

Its funny though to see the differences between the galaxies - on Valcyn we are the only Level 4 city, with about 6 or 7 level 2 cities having started in the last couple of weeks. On Bloofin (where I also play and live on Talus), the planet is home to over a dozen cities, 5 of which are Level 5!!.

Yeah, I really enjoyed living on Talus. It is a beautiful planet. Our city was built on the golden yellow plains 1800M from the Imperial Outpost and between the golden landscape and the lavendar sky it is really nice looking. I do feel Talus gets shafted when it comes to structures though. The generic/corellian styles do not look very nice on such a beutiful landscape.

It may seem silly, but everyone I've brought out to our city on Talus has moved there. I just make sure they sit with me and watch a sunset. Talusian sunsets... reason enough to live there.

We have a player city on Rori (Infinity) - Old Denobia.

While growth has been slow it is also steady and we expect to make level 4 very soon. We appear to have 98% of -ALL- the people who want to live on Rori within our city and it tends to be a very lively place.

This said we are really hoping that the publish goes ahead as stated because getting to some of the outer planets can be a little time consuming.
