Thread: Why can people still clone at a city when citybanned?

Thats a city bug. If you clone data is stored ata cloning center that you are banned from once you clone you will be warpped outside. The game doesn't check to see if your banned from the cloning center before you die.

If you get banned after you store your clone data at the cloning center of a city, you can still clone there when you die... just outside. It makes it really easy to just clone/rush when you try to destroy turrets etc. Having it changed seems pretty important to me.

When it happens though... if you get killed and chose your pre-designed clone factory you clone right where you are. Could it be considered an exploit?

Well it's a topic that could be up for debate. True almost everyone that does this intends to use it this way, however they can easily argue trying to not get wounds from cloning away and since they would just have travelled back anyway... Really it isn't something I would get CSR's involved with but that's me. Never know what their take on something would be. However it is getting fixed, I mean that can't be an intended feature.

I agree... but is it going to get fixed? I think I'll keep this post bumped. I wouldn't consider it exploiting personally but I think it should be changed.

Well, a nice fix to this and a fair fix would to have a check in place. Where the game system would first check for cityban on player if the pre-designated is a player city. Next if the check came up with a ban from all civic facilities, the player in question could choose to close at the closest non-banned city without penalties for the first clone. It would then be the player's responsibility to clone at that location, or another of their choosing. Another clone would result in standard penalties for cloning at non-designated locations.

This sounds fair I think.

On a related note, I'd like to see people not being able to shuttle in to a city if banned.

yeah... it would make sense if people can shuttle out once after they're banned, then cannot shuttle in or out again until pardoned. I hate having annoying/rude people asking/demanding that I unban them because they have to walk to Theed now (which is less than 2k away, not that I trapped them in the middle of endor or something )

I agree on the shuttling in too... It seems that no check is done at all when you enter a city via cloning or shuttling.

This is exactly what I was thinking. They can't use the shuttle to leave the city but they can use it to come in...that is kind of retarded.

I am checking out that, if i take my city off being registered, what would happen? If I remember correctly, you would no longer have an option to get the shuttle to the city, but would always have to buy a return ticket. And the shuttle would operate as always. Anyone do this yet? I would like to be sure before i take my city off the map. And, that would also meant that visitors would no longer know about our mall, which makes me really have to stop and think.
