I simply moved from one house to another house in our city. I declared residence in the same city.. but it said I left the city?
I hope that is not accurate because I had enough votes to become Mayor!
Does anyone know if this is simply a bug? I didnt leave the city at all, just changed my residence within the city.

Simple way to check this is to go to the City Hall Terminal, and see if you are listed as a citizen.
There are some bugs with reporting when you move from one house to the next within the city. It's been my experience, for example, that if you transfer ownership from one house to another in the same city, the Mayor will get a report that you have left the city.Mayors USED to get an email that stated a 'new residence has joined the city' when you redeclared in your new home (and after the notification that the same player had 'left' the city). We stopped getting this email with the vehicle patch (and same patch that introduced the '6 week you are out' rule).
It's a very annoying bug, and just another added tracking headache that Mayor's are faced with on a daily basis.

Must be a bug, I have had citizens move within the city this past week, and oddly enough, I still get the mails saying so.

I believe it is 'transferstructure' that produces the bug. If you actually pick up the house and then drop it again, you still get the email.

If you are a militia member, and you go to a second building in the city while still being declared as a resident in your original building, and then you declare residency in the new building, you are still listed as a citizen, but you lose the status of being in the militia. The game must remove you from the old building, thereby removing you from the citizen roster, then add you to the new building, thus adding you back onto the roster. The result is that the mayor has to come around and make you the milita again.
Make sure you plan this carefully with your milita members.
