I've been in contact with another city, Danube,in which the mayor decided to leave the game. Before he left, he handed over responsibilities to an interim person who has yet to win an election to become the official mayor. They asked if I would consider placing a house and running for mayor withn their city as I already have politician xp from running my own city, Dark Force Cove. Their city is much larger, with a garage banking terminals, etc. none of which I have in my own city. My thought was to run for mayor of Danube and, if I won the election, encourage the citizensof Dark Force Coveto move toDanube. When I attempted to do so, I was able to place a house and declare residencyin Danube but, when I went to the capital to run for Mayor, I got a message stating I could not run for Mayor of the city while the incumbent mayor of a city already. At this point the only option I see is to being moving people to Danube to let the total number of citizens in Dark Force Cove drop below 10 then run for mayor of Danube and hope that I win. Is this the only way? I don't want to abandon my city if things don't pan out in Danube. The temporary mayor of Danube doesn't want to get stuck without a mayor either so we both have a vested interest in getting this to work. Does anyone know of a way?

The only way is to get your citizens all to move to the new city (Danube) and then destroy your old city (Dark Force Cove), and register to run as Mayor in the new city. Honestly, this is probably a good move all around as the pecentage of active players will thereby have to increase dramatically and virtually guarantee you the election... or so one would hope, however I don't know the specifics of your situation.

Good luck either way!

When an old mayor leaves, this creates HAVOC - a big problem. The old mayor needs to be voted out and a new mayor voted in. And this is difficult for a number of reasons - such as double accounts, the 6 weeks for inactive accounts/house decay and the weekly autovote keeping him in power. Since I don't know the numbers, I'm guessing Danube has more citizens than Dark Force.Easiest way - I think -is have citizens of Dark Force vote in a New Mayor, temporarily relieving you (since their numbers are smaller). Move into Danuabe and canvas as manycitizens as you canto constantly vote for (evey week)whileMONITORINGthe votes at the voting terminal. This may take 2 months or more to finally get the majority votes. You may also ask some of the new Dark Force cits (who haven't put up vendors or have many items to move) to also move into Danube and vote for you to increase the odds. If you succeed, you will be Mayor of Danube and then you can dissolve Dark Force as they merge/join this city.

Good Luck!

Considering I don't know how may active players there are in Danube, I guess I could suggest that the citizens of that city move to Dark Force Cove. Is it possible to re-deed a city garage? What about trainers and banking terminals? I know houses can be redeeded. The only thing left would be some fountains and gardens and maybe a guild hall.

Must use caution in redeed'ing.

Although you can redeed many structures you may not be able to place them. Many structuresrequire a Politician tomeet aspecific Political skill orbe placed and sometimes also by a specic Master (ie Medical Center or Theater). For example, if you redeed the clone center, you must have Martial Policy II to place it again.

Some problems can arise when old mayors leave and a new one are voted in if some structures have been redeeded. The new mayor must acquire the specific political skill to place it again.
