No, there is no way he can resign.

You have to get the votes or you'll never be mayor.

You would lose the city heh.

Just have him send an e-mail to "city" and tell them to all vote for you. Simple enough.

I'm fairly positive that works... right?

I wish it worked like that. I left a guild a week ago...maybe longer. I also sent out a few emails saying to vote me out, but the fact that the incumbent gets all the votes for inactive citizens will keep me in office indefinitely. So the city is being forced to restart simply because there is no way to resign.

This also brings up a question as to whether the mayor should get votes automatically. Seemed good when we first started the player cities but unless they put in a command to resign, this is going to continue to cause problems. I'm not sure taking away the free inactive votes is a good idea since politician is a cr*p profession and the last thing politicians deserve is to have xp taken away.

Just put in something to let us mayors resign and it will solve this problem.

Roger that. I will need to step down as mayor of my city in a couple of months, and I fear that my cities new mayor will not receive enough votes to win due to many players simply not voting. I'm not sure a /resignmayor command would work, unless it was specifically designed to concede an election, in which case a /concedeelection command would work wonders.

Really? that sux. Even if the Mayor was .. eh.. banned from the game? He still would get all the automatic votes because he's incumbent?

I guess if one can't "lose" the election, the only way to free up some skill points is to surrender all your Politician skills except Novice. And in the meantime keep lobbying your citizens to vote for the other candidate.
