Greetings Everyone!

After 5 long months we have finally acheived our main goal.. reaching a Rank 4 (City)! Sure we'll be going for a Rank 5, but our main goal, as with many other player cities was to provide our citizens with an active city.. and to have a very active city Shuttleports are indeed a must have.

My guild <I F L> had started a city on Naboo named Korona nearly a year ago (pretty much the first day player cities went live). Of course in the beginning of the IFL it was just a few friends guilded, but as the guild started to grow, so did the city. I however was not around back in those days.. too bad because Korona could have been a wonderful city. All flat land with a Lake and River running through. But due to so many inactives homes we decided it was time for a fresh start. So we all packed up our belongings and headed out in search of something glorious.. we found our new home on Dantooine, North of the Argo OP. A few found the location not worth the time, because of rock formations that would be in the way and cause more of a pain in the long run. But the majority of us found the location splendid in so many ways. I worked on a rough sketch of a city layout and began setting out houses getting ready to make one of the best Imperial Cities on our server. After a couple of weeks we knew what our main goal was going to be.. getting our very long awaited shuttle. Of course, getting dedicated citizens was going to be the tricky part. So we were very selective in who we allowed to move into the city as we did not want to see the same thing happen with our new found home as it did in Korona. Within 3 weeks we were a Township.. now came the tough part.. getting the last 20 citizens to get our shuttle. We spanned it out over a months time.. and as of Wednesday August 19, 2004 @ 5:32am est our city achieved the Rank 4 status. We have a wonderful group of citizens now, sure we have approx. 8 inactives houses in our city.. but that is nothing compared to the 20-30 we had in Korona. Now it's time to acheive our next goal, working at getting our Rank 5! The most important thing to look for when searching for the perfect location... first make sure that planet isn't capped with other Player Cities.. if your ultimate goal is to get a shuttle and to have a thriving city. Also, don't exclude an area just because it has a few bumps here and there.. those bumps add character to your city But most of all... be an active mayor. I find that being an active mayor has many more benefits then just having my alt as the mayor. I'm there for my citizens whenever i'm online.. and in some cases many have my email addy or yahoo id. Take pride in everything you do.. the more you take pride in it, your citizens will.

hey griggs... i know how you feel... when i had Korona on naboo we were at about 65 citizens and stuck at rank 3. part of the reason we moved... but the account whipes could help you move up. i can think of a couple cities on naboo that will be dropping a level when their inactives get kicked good luck to you though... btw what made you leave talus?
