I have this house in my city that a citizen placed as a temp house untill the city grew.

he was ok with moving it after the update. Its been a month now I have noly seen him on once that entire time.

grrr freaking house is totally in the way.

CSR can do nothing to it and I have no idea how much maintance he put in it. wish there was a way mayors could remove houses or at least relocate them

I had a similar thing happen to me when Skyfar was first started. House placed close to the city center in order to advance in rank, and as far as I know, the guy who placed it never logged in again. It took almost 5 weeks to vanish.

Funny though, it was the day of the first Skyfar Festival, and I remember thinking,as I ran around getting things ready, how nice it would be if the house would vanish before people started arriving so I could replace it with a garden. 10 minutes later, I got the "Lost Citizen" email, and it turned out to be that very house that had vanished. Up went the garden, and the festival was a roaring success. Not that it wouldn't have been if the house was there, but the center square sure looked a lot nicer.

I sympathize with you, but there reallyis little you can do at this point. Now that Pub 10 is close and the Jedi are happy, then maybe after the combat balance, and the bug fixes they will need to do for JTL, and the smuggler revamp, and the revamps of every other combat profession that will surely be broken after the release of the combat revamp, and then the re-design of all the major NPC cities like they did with Bestine, THEN politicians and player cities might get some love. I figure around March of 2007, but I might be off by a month or two.At the very least I hopethey get around to us before SWG2 is released.

Disclaimer: Pappi, theaboveparagraph is not meant in any way to be a shot against you. I appreciate all the work you've done for politicians, and I can see how especially frustrating it must be for you to know that the profession is not high on the devs priority list.

    Greetings and Salutations!

Hope you don’t mind posts from non-politicians too much, since this is my second today

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about the whole “Unwanted people/structures in city” thing and have and had an idea. I’m sure it’s been rehashed, but it’s an idea, and as dangerous as that can be I’m going to share it anyway. J

How about a radial option on buildings/structures that has Condemn /Un-condemn on it? The tricky part would be implementation. It could NOT be an instant thing, because it would be far too easy to grief someone that way. I’ve thought of a couple of ways it might be possible however. One is that when a structure is condemned, no players are allowed to pay into that structures maintenance pool, and after a couple weeks or when the maintenance pool runs out (whichever is greater) the structure is destroyed. This would give the owner a chance to either A) relocate or B) Organize an opposition party against the current powers that be.

If the player isn’t able to convince enough people to vote out the current mayor, then the offending structure(s) will be removed from the city. IF however they can get enough support to get someone else into office, then the new mayor can choose the UN-condemn option.

Another control could be the majority vote again (you may notice I like these ). When a mayor chooses the condemn option, a note is sent out to the residents that “Mayor X would like to condemn structure X, waypoint attached.” The residents would then have to choose whether or not to allow the building to be condemned. If they DO choose yes, then the owner would still have the option above, but most likely it would be a very done deal at this point. You would still have to give them a couple weeks or till the maintenance pool runs out though so that they would have a chance to move their stuff. Maybe also put an upper limit on it of a month, since sometimes people have very large pools. Once the time is up, credit their account with whatever cash is left over in the pool and destroy the structure.

Anywho, just a couple ideas I had that I thought I’d share. Feel free to tear it apart as you see fit.

Now as far as getting the DEVs attention ... eh.
