Hi all,

I want to tell you the troubles that I went though to elect a new mayor. I'll be posting this in politician forum as well.

I live in Mos Rome on Tatooine and I'm theLeader of WAR-R, which is the primary guild living in Mos Rome. Garja was our last mayor and he did a really good job. But he had to leave the game because he is getting married in RL. Our town had 90+ people at the time and only a good 35 of them really play the game on a nomal basis.(normal meaninglike logged in at least once a week)And a good 10 of the citizens have canceled their accounts but have like 100 days of maintenance left. I know this because I have everyone that lives in town on my friend list. I play this game every day so I know who plays and who doesn't. (Yes I went to the city terminal and added each one manualy) There is a current bug in the system that still has a good 10+ people on the citizen list, that do noteven live in town. However I was able to contact a few of them and have them come to rome and vote. Surprizingly, it counted their vote.

I sent out emails to my guild and to all the citizens on the list. Lucky I was an Architect and I did a factory run of 30 small houses. I had contests for my guild, that they would get 20k for each new resident they brought to Rome. The new person would get a free house and 10k maintenance .

There is also a current bug with the Militia. I would love to place houses and then transfer them to the noob. (would make my life much easier) Me being on the Militia, I need to have zoning rights granted from another militia. I wasn't able to get rights half the time. But I was able to grant the noob rights. Then they would place the house wrong 90% of the time, I'd have to give them money for maintenance, have them re-deed it. Then they wouldn't listen to me. They would destroy the house. I would have to give them another one. See where I'm going with this? This is pure hell and it went on for 4 weeks.

The CSRs were very nice but very unhelpful. I sent a few tickets with my ideas on how they could fix the situation. The best they could come up was to delete the city hall (meaning that all civic structures placed by mayor and all items in them will be deleted. For me, this wasn't an option. We put too much work into the city hall alone, just to see it go poof. I even got a nice ticket back explaing that I must be a poor politician because I was unable to force people to login to the computer and force them to vote with their canceled accounts. (They said that in a much nicer way, in a customer service style of course)

So here we are, 4 weeks later. It only took 250k, 20 houses, and many sleepless nights. But we did it. We have not elected Ceasariii as mayor of Rome.

I'm sure many of you don't care. But this is an issue in the game that is becoming very common in the larger cities.

Thanks for listening.
