Thread: I did a bad, bad thing and feel like utter crap!

I set a temporary storage house for one of my citizens to aid in their moving. Last night, I checked on the storage house, figuring that is should be empty by now. I go in check all the rooms and see nothing. I headed over to redeed and find there is something still in the house. I use the terminal to get the last item, but didn't see anything. I went back and forth for a good minute in 1st person and still see nothing. I try again, with the same result. So I decide to 'destroy all items' thinking there was a bug and proceed to redeed the house. You guessed it! Talking to my citizen and seeing their house bare I found that all thier items were still in the storage house. They NEVER loaded! Over 5 frigging minutes! Now, I feel like s*** and have to explain that I am logging a csr ticket and hopefull will be able to recitfy it. About an hour later a very nice csr contacts me and basically tells me there is nothing they can do, since they do not know the contents that were destroyed. I understand.
This is the first time I've ever been truly pissed at this game. For the contents not to load is ridiculous. I am not a careless or impatient person, I didn't miss anything. I clearly remember a fountain, krayt skull, and lots of other items from a previous visit. The house was jam packed and it would be very, very hard to miss anything. Lol, I should have at least heard the sound of the fountain.
Now I have to go back and explain again what happened and that I let them down. The money to pay for the stuff isn't a problem, but some of the unique or rare items will be hard to replace.
If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Is there some other route I should try for customer support? Thanks.

I think you're pretty much out of luck unless you can find a really really nice CSR who is willing to go over tons and tons of logs and stuff (cause I'm sure that's what it might take)
I guess next time you will have learned your lesson and will not destroy something until the other party involved gives the ok.
To make things go over smoothly I might consider buying as much of the missing stuff yourself. Don't just give them money but help them get the stuff back.
It's a chore but in this case it might be best.

I have to agree.... I did that once!!... 
it was two akuan rings (I can't spell them) the +5 range defense one..... they drop it so it was floating and hard to see... it was two items I feel bad.. luckily it was my best friends so I just take him out to eat twice.. hehe..

I think you have to either find a nice CSR to work with you and check the logs.. it is really really really tough tho.. most CSR just replace via a list.. assuming to get a nice one that willing to do that.. (its their call really)
alternatively.. replace as much as you can and keep a list.. it doesn't hurt you might get a csr to replace what you replace that player..
PS. upon release.. I lost a fusion generator... I didn't get it back until 2 months later.. hehe..

it's a sad problem of the lack of speed from the database to the rendering engine, which is admittedly going to have to do a hell of a lot of work to fund such things.
but 5minutes?? not good, major bad luck on your part, and I hope you get it sorted in the end

I think that it was an honest mistake. I personally, becuase of experience, leave one torch by the terminals, to tell me if the house items have been loaded or not.
Sometimes I have to go in and out of house four times or more before the items finally load, it can be a problem.

Wow man I'm sorry, I feel your pain my friend. The sad part is because the game is so buggy you thought it was a bug, if the CSR's say they can't do anything hit them with that. That your first conclusion was that it was a bug.... We can't trust the systems in place, its not your fault. I just hope your friend can understand :-/

The good news: They are totally understanding. Our master architect is going to decorate the place on me. There was a krayt skull that we need to replace but yeah, they're OK with it.
You are correct, it's a shame I assumed it was a bug. I love this game and it really killed me to be truly pissed at the game. I've dealt with bugged missions, dismount bugs,...well you know. This situation really , really stank. Anybody, devs, paying attention, please take note.

I done the same with y house when i moved, lost a holo and a crystal. Total suckage

Sort of had the same thing happen to me a I made a large house for a friend, put it in my house, and left. Later my friend tells me she never found the deed, and I go look, I dont see it either. So I spend the time and resources and make another large house, give it to her, in person. Go to my house later, the deed is there now! Doh.

Sorry but I have to say that that CSR does not know what he is talking about.
We had a city where the guy who owned the mall their had a big fight with the mayor. And so to get even he destroyed the house. The house had over 12 vendors, and millions and millions worth of resources and merchandise.
Well guess what? The house was placed back by a csr a few days later with all contents in tact. And transfered to someone elses name. This was on Bloodfin in NDC a few months back.
So when a CSR says he cant help. What he means is, that I could but hey I dont really have to so.
Id file another ticket and hopefully you will get a new csr and he will be of more help to you.
