Can anyone explain to me how the heck these things work? I just starteda city and we are ina tight spot with the level one building area being as small as it is. I have houses in nice neat rows trying to fit as many as possible ( the terrain wehre we ended up having to put the City Hall is a bit rough). Abyway I log on and have seveal messages that tell me that 3 of my citizens have built chemical and mineral processors in the town! After the shock wore off, I sent them all very ***nice*** emails explaingin why this was NOT a good idea. After 3 days they all got aroind to finally moving them.

My question is HOW IN THE HELL DID THEY DO IT? Doesnt a mayor have to grant zoning rigfht to build in a town?

there is a option on theCity management Terminalin the CH. Chose City Management - Enable/Disble Zoning Rites and change it to Disable Zoning.

then as a mayor you can add ppl to the militia that you trust to /grantzoningrites . But becaureful when you /grant. ther have been numerous posts on ppl laying down more then 1 home, and then /transferign structure to allow new citizens in.

The Best defense would be to palce the home yourself, or i believe youi can /grant the person to place, and then /grant him again. I THINK that would only allow him to place 1 structure. But either way, Just ALWAYS be withthe person who is placeing the structure. and be prepared to remove that individulas zoning rites.

if you place it yourself and want to transfer it, you stand on the front steps with who ever you are giving it to, target them, and type /transferstructure.

I've found it makes my life a lot easier to have a large militia so i don't have to run back to town every time someone upgrades a house or brings a new friend to town (though my city has been established for a while, so its hard to put a house in a bad spot now)

I'd have to agree with you Rev. The orginal mayor had the foresight forVilla Sura anddid such an incredible job with the layout so that it is easy now to know where to place certain types of houses.....I wonder where he retried to? hmmmmm
