whatsup, i have 55 citizens will i get 5500 xp or does it cap off? Thanks

you'll get 100xp per person who's votes, so should get up to 5500 xp.
you're still limited in how much xp you can gain by you'r skills or lack thereov, though I've seen 1 post that stated you can hold upto 10x xp instead of only 2x like other professions
ie. if you have novice polititon and nothing else, you can gain 10,000 xp, instead of only 2,000xp (lvl 1 skills take 1000 xp)
I have not verified the x10 xp bit.

The cap is extremely high, so much so that you really don't have to worry about ever capping out on the xp unless you win every election for the next year and never spend a single xp...(ok, so that's a bit overstated, but you get the idea)

um I think it is bugged though Texxie, I am capped at 60k xp at master politician and how long have I been mayor after you????

I've heard it's suppose to be 20x. if something else suggest otherwise, let me know.

ignore me, just worked out that I was wrong in how I assumed it worked.
I think the hard cap though is 60k max, 20x at level 1 (so at 1/1/1/1 you cap at 40k) and then a sliding scale from there.
