Hello mayors, soon-to-be-mayors, and people who just like reading this forum,

Below are some ideas for Player Cities. Player Cities have so much potential yet there is so much to do with taxation, structures, mission terminals and a few dozen others. Someideas I have may not be good. If you agree or disagree with somthing post here, because I enjoy reading peoples feedback

-First thing first... taxes. For me, all taxes make me happy except for sales tax. 2,000 credits a week max is rediculous in my opinion. 5k should be the max. It's already hard for me to maintain a city that costs 150k a week... I dont want to even imagine what running 500k a week cities are like.

-Mayor benefits. What do mayors benefit for being mayors... not really anything actually. We all have to spend at least more than a million credits for being a mayor. Wouldn't you think mayors would receive high paying salleries (sp?) and what not? I sure do. Create a pay-roll system for mayors. I really dont know what do at all... polotician mission terminals? Hey, why not? We need to have some fun. How about if you manage to get 4 citizens in a week you get 30k credits? Somthing along those lines. Why dont we have polotician npc's that give missions to us mayors? It's a good way to grow our town and make more money while your at it. It's such a chore to go recruiting for the city, why not make a profit while doing it? Hmm... but there may be some exploiting. People could purposly drop residency then declare residence so the mayor makes easy money. Maybe if you drop only one residence during the mission, the mission is canceled and you cant take anymore missions for a certain ammount of time. This idea is still sort of schetchy, so I want to hear your comments on this one.

-Mission terminals. I say we implement a new type of tax. "Mission tax," lets call it. Now this tax would work in percentages from 0% to 50%. If you put 50%, half of the credit reward from any missions taken from that town get put into the treasury. Just be sure not to make it too high or people wont take missions there

-Trainers. I say we do the same thing for trainers in a way. You can increase the ammount of credits it takes to train somthing slightly. The increased credit ammount gets put into the treasury.

-City Decorations. The problem is they are pointless, cost a lot of money, and not enought people have them. City decorations are supposed to liven cities up to make them feel like cities. But it's pretty hard if one lamp post adds 2k to the weekly maintenance. Lower the price increase on them by far. I know it's supposed to be a money drain of some sort, but I think the cities themselves do a good job with that. Make it so they do somthing. Well what could a statue, lamp post, or fountain do exactly? Maybe it should make some sort of a city benefit. Like an entertainer gets mods if they are near a fountain, or image designers get mods of some sort.

-Image Design Tents. They work just like any other Image Design Tent. Maybe make them look different or smaller. Dont ask me why, but I just feel like it would make another cool type of structure. Similar to the way garages were.

-Cantinas and Med Centers are somthing that almost all cities need. Cloning Facilities are almost a nessecity. Wait, what the heck is that theater? Meh, who needs one. What I am trying to say is Theaters need to have much more purpose. I know they are meant for roll-playing, but this theater doesnt even enforce that. For one thing, we need to be able to place furniture on stage. We might as well use a cantina for any plays. Its got a beutiful stage AND allows you to place items on stage. The only place ina theater you can place items in is inside the "dressing room." I dont even know if it has entertainment mods. If it doesn't, I say we add those too. It should at least act like a cantina that looks like a theater, but I need to hear your ideas on how to improve this structure. It just feels like it's going to waste to me.

-Bases inside city limits. Any base that lies withen city limits should give a large benefit to the city. This would make having both a city AND a base good to have. If there is a base inside the city, the residents and mayor should recieve a message that says, "Base is under attack by enemy forces," if its attacked. This gives a reason to put a base inside a city, so that you are warned of it being attacked. But that is not enough. Bases need to improve mission reward status if inside a city. Any other ideas for this one people?

-Militia. Militia seems pointless. All they can do is ban people, which is nothing more than an annoyance tool, and grant people zoning, which I or they could really care less about. We need militia to do somthing. Bring city warn back if you have to. Add city ignore. Make it so that whenever a banned person enters town you recive a system message. Militia needs to be much more agressive. I know there are some other ideas I may be missing, so please post them heere.

-Roads and walls. This is probobly my least important idea, but I sort of want roads and walls. Allow us to pave brick or cement type roads and walkways in the city. It just looks weird with a city just being on complete grass or sand. I mean look at real life cities, or the npc cities and outpost for that matter, they all have paved roads of some sort. Have it so you have to pay 10 credits a meter of pavement of somthing. The same goes for walls. They would be more expensive however, and could be used for "improper" base protection. I still suggest we do somthing of this sort however. It would allow us to create archs for city entrance ways.

Look forward to everyones feedback. Keep the posts flame-free please.

Thanks for reading,

Lexx

I like these 2 the best. We NEED city warn, I will repeat myself We Need City Warn. I am so sick of having to watch banned people come in my city and spy on us and our troops while preparing for a raid, or defense. Checking Vuln times, etc. I want to be able to fight them out of my city. If they can survive and then get my vuln time, then so be it, not fair to have them be able to just stroll in and check the time, while 10 of my militia members just stand there and watch and can do nothing about it.

Hey Devs <NEWBS> put down your new fluffy pet jedi and pay attention. Fix this BS.

All good ideas Lexx...

...unfortunately, no Player City love is due until after JTL. The only parts we can get would be related to the GCW, so your base idea may be feasible. The rest of it, unfortunately, will have to wait til after we get our spaceships.

Yeah, who wouldn't want to bug a few people about joining a city while they are waiting for the shuttle?

Many good ideas I have to say.
I like the idea with a mission terminals for mayors. Some action in the city for mayor to shorten the time while you are waiting for a new citizen who wants to move in and is still waiting for the shuttle
