Although it is difficult for mayors to resign, it doesn't necessairly mean there is anything wrong with the current system which requires 51% of votes from the citizenship list or that there's anything wrong with the auto-voting.

Caution is needednot to open more doors for potential abuses and exploits as well as how it will affect the politician profession and cities overall.

One hand, it's difficult for incumbent mayors to step down - on the other hand there arecity takeovers. One hand, players play solely with one account and no cross server swaps - other hand other players play with cross server lots and multiple accounts......see the problem ?

If, the 6 weeks period of inactivity is in place and inactive players are removed from the cit list - that should help. Maybe, it shouldn't be 6 weeks of inactivity but 4 weeks.

If there are bugs that keep players on the cit list that shouldn't be - that should be fixed.

But, to change the 51% of citizens votes for the most votes is totally nonsense and would create more problems.

To remove the auto-vote, will also create more problems.

So, if you got a good solution - let's hear of it and the impact it will have on incumbent mayors and also by those trying to find exploits........

/transferincumbency (see separate thread).

THAT would allow mayors to step down, quite easily in fact.

ok, let me try to address this in one thread, I really can't answer this every single time it pops up...

I have a post on the corr forum. I've bumped it a few times, and got other corrs to post in it. I've forwarded the link and a quote to TH via email. however, if you guys haven't heard, TH is being promoted. I don't know when he's gonna get back to me, and no I can't just shove it in their faces.

now, personal comment on the actualy resignation issue:

it's one thing if you can't get half of your citizens to vote within a week, and it's another if you don't have half of your citizens active. personally, I'm all for having a less restricted way to vote a MIA mayor out, and votes towards a challanger should count for more than one week. however, if your city doesn't have enough people to vote, then realize that there might be other cities waiting to advance and DO have enough people waiting. honestly, I don't think it's fair for those cities I would support a (better and less buggy) implementation of the inactivity rule, since (as Jvani have mentioned before) that it would take care of many cases of "our citizens went MIA so we can't vote the mayor out".

I wish we're getting any big changes before JTL... but it really doesn't look hopeful. I *know* there are problems, but I can't make them fix it
