I wanna be a Governor...
Like most of the people on this board, I think there needs to be some changes to the Politican Profession... a profession I have recently start to aquire. Master Politicians need to be able to do something special... otherwise there is just no point.
Some people have expressed dimay over not being able to display the title Mayor. Maybe Master Politicians should be able to do this? For expample, the title could look like this:
Han Solo
Mayorof Coronet
Also, I think it would be cool ifthe Master Politician with the largest city on a given planet got a title like Governor or something. This would give many of us something to shoot for after our cities have reached 5. Governors would not be elected, they would be "appointed" by the empire for having the largest city on the planet and being a Master Politician. Maybe only declared Imperial master politicians (of which I am none of by the way) could be governors? As a bonus, a governor could get a special mansion or civic building or something?
I am sure something could be thought of for Alliance Master Politicians as well.
I dunno, just thinking out loud....
What do you guys think?

The imperial, galactic senate. Well I don't want to see random NPC's from god only knows having as much power as PC guys in a big fancy shmancy building. The main idea is having a planetary gov that we can strive to join (as "diplomats" or "senators") and effect that planet in a similiar way to the bestine elections only more-so. The leader of this assembly could possibly even be given the title of Diktat (corellia), King/Queen (naboo), or Moff (tatooine) to put this more into star wars. Who knows, it's just an idea that was thrown out a few times for possibilities when we get revamped.

Pity.
I would have liked being a regional governor that could have the ability to increase the imperial or rebel presence on my planet.

On "Governor titles" the definite answer was "no". LucasArts controls continuity and the use of canon material, and governors are known assets in the SW EU at this point, so you cannot have a PC replacing a EU-established governor.
As far as a planetary/galactic senate, Palpatine disbanded the galactic senate, and most definitely would have crushed anything trying to be formed by any groups of mayors on any planet. His governors would control those areas for him, and thus effectively continue to quell any form of senate.
If you want to form something on your own, that's one thing, but from what we've been told there will be no in-game support for a senate, nor will any title ever be bestowed higher than "mayor", by LucasArts decree.
