Hi !

I've always been amazed at how some layout could have medium houses wall-to-wall, how do you do that ?

Please !

Certain houses are as wide as the squares that they take up, this means they can be placed touching each other to form a wall.

We use medium naboo, I think the medium corellia and Generic can do this, not sure about the tattoine ones though

my city ok lok only has Tatooine houses (i've implemented this city law to keep up good appearance of our city) and it is impossible to place Tat houses wall to wall.

I think I've heard from one of the devs that it's actually a bug, and we weren't meant to be able to do that... oh well

Yep, back on the pre-beta boards they addressed the issue of walling in areas by saying there would always be an alleyway between homes to prevent griefing....

I'm glad they didn't do that though because it looks a lot nicer having naboo homes right next to each other. Just so long as the city planners realize how long the street is and allow for a few breaks here and there (small naboo house or just an open grid square) it works out just fine for form and function. Not as nice but still pretty good with the generic ones, now if we were to get true corellian architecture and the meds could touch. Ah just think of the possibilities.

There is a known bug associated with this though - some houses in the row may have their interiors bug, which causes you to be unable to use certain /move commands when moving furniture.

One house I decorated had this bug. I couldn't use the /move forward command at all. So, I had to decorate the house by dropping the item on the stairs (this was before /move up) and then turning my toon around and using the /move backward commands (via toolbar) to move something in place.

It actually turned out rather well, but was just a pain in the...um...butt to do

Actually Laern I think that that is just an old architecture bug that still survives thanks to the fact that homes don't decay. I had the same problem a couple of different times, 1 of which was inside of a small generic home a few spots away from his neighbor; only there I couldn't use /move back. It is independent of where the house is, but rather when the house was made. If it got hit by this bug 8 or 9 months ago, whenever it was in the code, and has been kept up with maintenance and moved around until it got into that city wall it will not be able to be /moved forward. A new home dropped in the exact same spot probably wouldn't, but then who's going to blow a hundred k to test my crackpot theories.
