Thread: An Easy Way for Mayors to Get What They Want

I posted this idea in the petition thread, but I thought I'd repost here for possible Dev visibility.../bump if you like it.
My idea is just this: (sorry if somebody's already said this, but I haven't seen it)
If there's an opponent running for mayor against the incumbent, the incumbent should be able to resign his or her post to the opponent.
This would make the transfer of mayorship to alt characters very easy.
Plus, citizens who don't actively vote automatically vote for the incumbent, so the xp question would be answered automatically as well. This would avoid the problem of the city disbanding when the mayor resigns, too.
This seems pretty seamless to me, and would require relatively little development on the part of SOE.
...Or is this already possible and I'm just really a noob?

It's already been discussed over and over.
It's not currently implemented.

Was a reason ever given why they can't / won't do this?
It seems like such a simple solution....

Yep. Basically, our dev, Greenmarine, is on the JTL team. As neglected as we were before, we are even more neglected now. Retiring should not be so difficult. Then again, Jedi, shouldn't even be in this game.
