i have tried, oh i don't know about 40 times to get rid of a cantina in my city that has been there for over 3 months. the player that had put it there hasn't played in just as long. he has another player on a different server. I have no way to get in contact with him, and there is no way to take out all the maintance in the cantina. my only idea about getting rid of it faster was to raise taxes 50% just to drain if faster, but i don't think that is fair to the other players for something that the mayor should be able to get out of the city.
Why the hell is politican so worthless, i can't even get the CSR to help me move a house/cantina, or figure out if his account is still active.

If, as you say, this person has an account on another server that they play more than they play on yours, you can send them email or /tells in-game by addressing it to server.name.
/tell starsider.laeren hi
You can also add them to your friends list that same way. That way you can see when they are logged in and can send them a cross-server /tell.
If this person is just truly gone, there's not much you can do with the building but hope that it decays and goes away.

too bad mayors cant board up the windows and doors for empty buildings. That would be funny. Walk into a city and you would quickly see how active that city is by the number of boarded up buildings.

And actually, I think cross-server emails work as well if you use the form Server.Name.
I think capitalization is important though. But I forget if it was the server name or character name that needs to be capitalized.. I think it's the server name...

that would be great and all, but i have no idea what name or what server the guy plays on and the CSR won't tell me.

Why not just drop a new cantina?

Thats strange, try again maybe! I have had CSR's in game email players for me before concerning player city issues. They basicly say "if you like, please contact Foster about a player city issue." They of course did not give me the name directly.
