In the past before our galaxie was dying we had monthly council meeting where also citizens could take part

we also tried to do some citizen meeting s but no one ever showed up, xcept 2-3 people (of 90)

most citizens don t care about politics and don t want to be bothered by it

Yah. I've had many people that are "shopping" for a city to live in specifically ask if we hold or insist on town meetings. They don't want them. Or if the city has them, they do not want to be required to attend. Nor do they want to be left out of the loop or denied access to anything if they do not attend any meetings thatmight beheld.

What has worked best for us are Citizen mails for surveys, merchant announcements, help requests, hunting group schedules, new citizens,and city news. That way they can participate at their convenience. Or not. But at least none can say they don't know what's going on or coming soon...

We also have a City Council that takes care of city business in general and if warranted, then we take it to the citizens for input, via in game mail. We also have a City/Guild website. All citizens are encouraged to register there and read for more information and discussion. That works exceptionally well.

We try to hold city meetings once a month, but like everyone else we have low participation. So to make sure everyone felt like thier voices were being heard in the city I held a vote for a "peoples represenative" on my city council. This persons job is purly to gather info on what the citizens want. He sends me an e-mail twice a month with a convern and wish list. We still hold the cities meetings every once in a while just for the roleplaying of things, but the citizens are very happy to have the rep voice their concerns without their effort. (knida like soe and forum corres.)

we dont do town meetings, we use teamspeak mostly. so no point to having them. but thats awesome u guys have ppl that would actually show up

I have been sending out a city mail about every 2 weeks... generally just an update, but we are also a fairly sucessful guild opperated city. In that, we have out private guld forum to discuss things and of course the guildchat... Currently, due to out growth we will be soon implimenting a body to help the city develop in the future.
