Thread: How much should I charge for taxes?
I am about to get a player city, maybe; and I just wanted to know what a reasonable amount of credits I should charge for taxes. Thanks in advance.

My City is PA only
50% Property, 0 income, 10% sales , 100 ticket.
Income: 1500
Property: 4%
Sales: 0 (Duty Free)
Shuttleport: 150
We make well over 200k a week with 58 residents so far and lots of shuttle traffic.
ours is
Property:0
sale tax: 1%
income tax: 2k
Shuttle 100cr (default)
not sure what we'll charge for shuttle tickets yet. should have one placed by saturday.
Income: 2000
Property: 20%
Sales:10% (I think)
Shuttleport: 100
But we are a PA based city, so we are much more organized to the cause and it isn't a problem to raise taxes.

Income:300
Property:6%
sales:0%
Shuttle: 100 because everytime i put it to 10 credits it resets to 100
I get about 150k a week with 85 citizens, the rest is funded by donations from the generous people in the city. Works out perfectly.
I have some good crafters in my city, and the 10% sales tax is nuts on really expensive items, I made far too much in tax, far too quickly. The taxes are a pretty blunt tool due to rounding. You'll get bugger all from 2% and far too much from 10%.
I'm balancing the taxes out at around 5% property, 1% sales, with around a 300k per week city. That cost of the metropolis will cause us to re-evaluate, and the new gardens and stuff will cost more, so we'll see how it goes.
A big sales tax for armorsmiths, weaponsmiths and architects just drags in too much money due to the price their items sell at.
We also have 0cr income, and 100cr shuttle fee, 95 citizens, 220+ structures.
