Greetings.

You may know me in game as Semskun, mayor of Iacon (just southwest of Bestine on Tattooine, Intrepid server). Due to unforseen events, I will no longer be able to run the city I have painstakingly set up. I know there are many people and PA's out there who wanted cities but never got them, or wanted a city on one of the three main planets but weren't lucky enough to get one.

Since I will no longer be able to serve in a mayoral capacity, I figured I would offer up the mayorship to the highest bidder, simply to try to recover some of the astronomical cost that went into it.

What you get:
A nicely furnished city hall (complete with mayor's office)
A Shuttleport
A Cantina (in deed form)
A medical center
A bank
Several gardens, plenty of fountains, statues and tons of streetlamps, mission terminals, and skill trainers already set up.

Should you win, I will send a message to all the residents of the town letting them know that I will be retiring from the post and that they should cast their votes for you in city hall. You *will* need to have novice politican in order to become mayor, just so you are aware.

Countless millions have been spent on the city so far, and I would simply like to try to recover some of that money. I urge you to stop by and have a look at the city (it's on the global map), as you would be hard-pressed to find a city that has a nicer layout, if I do say so myself. Here's your chance to get a city where most of the hard work has already been done... you can change the name to whatever you like and run it however you see fit.

Anyone who is interested, please send me an email in-game with your offer. I will be posting this to several different boards, and so bidding in the thread will not work. At the end of each day, I will send an email (in-game) to everyone who has bid and let them know the current highest bid. You may then bid again the next day if you so choose. I will accept bids from today, Wednesday, January 21 through Saturday, January 24 at midnight (EST).

The highest bid in my inbox (that arrives before midnight on Saturday) will win, and I will announce the winner sometime on Sunday, January 25.

So send in-game emails with your bids (if anyone is interested) to Semskun. Opening bid will be 2 million credits. Thanks, and good luck.
Tack

Why not offer the position to someone in your city?

Do you really expect someone to spend a couple of million dollars on something that might last just a week? The citizens can easily revolt and vote for one of their own.

Nice idea and all, but there are too many chances for failure here.

Seems like the citizens will really be the one deciding on your successor - I am not sure how you plan to make a garunteed sale

It is an interesting idea but as Tack said its pretty risky for the buyer. All the citizens could just leave....The only thing I can see is if a large guild buys your city but Im sure that they already have one.

Have you already asked a citizen to take over? If I was a citizen and heard that you were selling the city I would pack up now.

Could a novice Politician just take it over?

Do your citizens know about your plans? Especially if the town is a diehard rebel rouser and you have prospective imperials, or just plain untrustworthy people out there, who would take over thanks to your choice and yours alone.

Your citizens can vote against any new mayor by running themselves. Do you have your citizen's consent already?

lol...city for sale.......did April 1 already pass? Or is this the scond go around of the same date.

If your citizens get ahold of this, they will surely just vote you out man.

I cant see the citzens being behind you since you would get the money for the city being sold.....not that that would ever happen.

Thanks for the laugh this morning though....it was really funny.

If you are truly serious, this should at least be posted in your server trade forum, not here.
