Hi, my guildies and I want to start a rebel city on the Valcyn server. I know some of the planets can't have more cities. Is there any way to see which are open and which are closed besides buying a city hall and trying to place it?
Trying to avoid buying useless city-halls..hehe
Also... is there anyway to see if the planetary rank caps have been met?
Thanks,
Kalem

From the Politician and Player City FAQ:
Q: How do I know if a planet is capped?
A: There is no way to know for certain the number of player cities on a world (it requires rank 3 to be visible on the map as a true city and not all are able to reach that rank) but a simple way to get a general idea is to open up your world map and select the mission terminal tab. That will show where all the mission terminals on the world are located at; ones sitting in the middle of nowhere are towns that take up one of those spots. The only certain way to know is to attempt to place a city hall on the planet; if it is capped you will receive a system message stating that the hall cannot be placed.

not necessarily. you can always comb the entire planet... free, but will take a lot of effort.

I'm not sure what shows up when your city is registered or unregistered. Try searching for city structures like theaters, hospitals and banks.

Well when it comes to cost analysis, spendinga quartermillion on a city hall is smarter than spending as much time as that would take rather than making 4x+ as much as the city hall costs.

Actually, searching for mission terminals on the planetary mapworks pretty well for counting cities... Most small sized cities add these pretty early on. ![]()
