Ahh, 5x5. Thank you. Only one more thing, will I need to add a 1 square border around it making it 6x6 when planning to add houses next to it? I thought I read that a garden was considered a civic structure and that houses can't be placed within 1 square...

No, the 5x5 includes the 1 square all around. That's why I said 3x3 with a 5x5 footprint. The garden itself is only 3x3.

The subject says most of it.

I'm trying to plan the layout of 3 houses, 5 factories and a small garden in the middle but since I have no idea how much room a small garden takes up I can't place the houses to leave room for it. I believe from the City guide that no house will be able to be placed within one square of a civic structure but I don't know if gardens are categorized as those or how many squares they take up initially. These structures will be placed outside the current city limits and will be included with the next update.

Does anyone know of a place to find this?

Well I have renditions of most the structures with their footprints. (I think I'm missing a size of garden but couldn't find an example of them.) It's right here
