perhaps you could explain a little more here ?
how exactly do you transfer mayorship to another person ?
I don't believe it is possible other than using the voting process ....... which many of us know is somewhat dificult.

That's all we need - the mayor of the weekor mayor-less cities.
Most mayors don't invest their time, money, builda city and friendships just to unexpectedly resign.
Two simple solutionsare:
- get a majority vote
- leaving mayor just removes City Hall

Ok it's so simple. The mayor can resign. And do 2 things. The mayor can give mayorship to another politcon. Or you can just resgin and they city runs the same but nothing changes till a new mayor comes in.

*starts to wish that Dawson would just get a life and stop telling others how to run theirs*
I've been the Mayor of a Metropolis since just after its inception (we were the 3rd city placed on Valcyn) and I have dropped Novice Politician more times than most have had cut lunches
.
I quite like being Mayor, and everyone in town appreciates the work that gets done, and the response times that I provide to requests. They are also a bunch of realists who are aware of the penalties involved in being a mayor (the loss of skill points, the permancy of the position, etc) and are quite happy whenever I go on a mayoral "vacation".
There are some purists who get their knickers in a knot about people dropping Novice Politician. But realistically, unless you are a-retentive about continually changing gardens and streetlights, once your city has its specialisation, has maxed out on decorations, you have a nice mix of trainers and the militia is all fixed up, Novice Politician is really only useful for allowing you to grant zoning rights (but you can get around that by dropping structures yourself or getting a militia memver to do it).
You could always just try and get voted out, but be prepared to harrass lots of people over an extended period of time before you get your wish.

What if the mayor has to quit the gamefor military reasons, family reasons, economic reasons, etc...? Just because a mayor expects to be playing forever when he starts the city doesn't mean he actually will be playing forever.
Two simple solutionsare:
get a majority vote
How do you get a majority vote if more then 50% of the citizens in the city have retired from the game?
leaving mayor just removes City Hall
What if the citizens just want a new mayor without disbanding the city?
We need better solutions then this.

Disbanding a city is not a good solution... unless the Devs plan it that way.. if a city does not work.. why replace a mayor.. just disband and let other city a chance to rise.... *shudder*
Why do I have a feel that is the case
since replacing mayor requires 51% vote... and people need to be active to vote.. thus... in the Devs eyes the city does not deserve to be exist since it does not have over 50% active citizens.
