Theft Warning about City Mall buildings
My city uses a medium generic house for a ‘City Mall’. Any citizen is allowed to place a vendor there. It’s a really nice feature, so buyers can come to one place for all their shopping needs and sellers get a lot of traffic.
Well last night we experienced a theft in the building : (
A disgruntled citizen (who left the city/guild had a vendor there) stole all of the loose items that were in the building. Citizens had packs behind their vendor where they could store items and tables with items displayed.
While I removed him from the admin list on the building, apparently anyone with a vendor is added back onto the admin list automatically. This allowed him to take all the items.
This is the first time my city has experienced griefing from an ex-citizen.
If your ‘city mall’, please warn your citizens not to store items there.
We are pursuing proper griefing channels with the abuse report, and the csr seems sympathetic to our cause. The thief’s confession, threats and gloating were captured in a chat log. The only good news is that he removed his vendor as well.

edit: now that I think of it.. I've had buildings and merchant tents with other people's vendors in it, and I've never had a problem like this. are you sure someone on your admin list didn't put him back, or if the remove command actually went thru? I would be interested to know if it's just an isolated incident.

I can't confirm when it happened, but I know I removed him from admin on the building. None of the other admins on the house put him back on that I know of.
Maybe it was a mistake by one of my citizens, but I really doubt it.
Edit: I'll check tonight to confirm (I'll remove everyone from the admin list but me) and see if they're all back tomorrow.

I'm not aware of any feature that would put people in your admin list automatically. I've never seen that or heard of it happening. I'll do some testing myself to see if I can find any evidence of this. One option is to check with the CSRs and see if they have any log files of this person being put back on the admin list after you removed him. They should also be alerted to the theft anyway.
