If I have my zoning rights open, can anyone just come by and build any structure they want? Including Covert Scanners and Minefields?
If I have my zoning rights by permission only, can that player I grant zoning permission to, just drop down a Mminefield or Covert Scanner if they felt like it?
And if they do how can I get rid of it? Especially if I am of the opposing faction?
Thanks

And the suggestion on if you have zoning enabled, is to follow the person to where they're dropping their structure, and the scenario goes like this...
Player: I need zoning rights to drop a house right here
Militia: Okay. /grant
Player dropps house.
Militia /grant.
The second /grand revokes their zoning rights, so they can't go off and do stupid stuff with rights! (like planting other bits of non-approved crap.

another suggesstion (that I use) is this...
as mayor I keep 8 lots open to place small to large homes.. (except PA halls) and then do a /transferstructure
This way you can decorate your city and organize easier..
also the downside is that the militia can /grant but cannot place themselves unless grant by the mayor or another militia member.. silly isn't it?
If you don't have enable.. the main worry you would have to worry is "grief" like having harvestors in front of your city hall or in places where you need to place homes (crucial for upgrade and such) since city space is very valuable and limited (even more limited if you have non-flat terrain)

Or having a large group of a$$hats come in, drop enough houses that they're a majority in town, vote out the current mayor, and destroy the city hall.
I've heard of that happening as well...

Thanks, all, there were some really good ideas in there... wish I had implemented some of it when the city started.
Anyways, what if someone does end up building something unwanted in the city (since the have 24 hours and I don't revoke permission as soon as they build a house)? Is there any CSR support on this or are we "on our own"? And without /citywarn how do we enforce anything now?

You are completely on your own. Although you are mayor of the city, you have no further authority. For some crazy reason, this is meant to stop any greiving on a mayor's part. This does leave the citizen free to grief if he wants. I suppose that having the ability to arbitrarily remove someone's home is a bit much, but perhaps an 'eviction notice'. Maybe the offending person gets 7 or 14 days to remove their home or it is destroyed (lol, there seems to be no problem with this happening to the city hall).
