I tried to rename my city today.

I had orginally named it "Ghosttown" and I actually like it better "GhostTown."

I did this in the City Management Terminal. It said the name has been changed.....but it's not.

Is there some type of delay? Waiting period? It said all of the citizens would be notified via e-mail and noone has gotten anything.

Next assessment day?

Anyone else accomplish this?

Nope, our changed instantly, i'd give it another go

We wanted to name ours the 47th IEF Command Center but you can't have numbers. It makes sense, I didn't even think about it until I got the message.

So I typed in IA Command Center and it changed instantly too.

Interesting.

I tried it again and it tells me, "Another town has this name."

I think it's because it's the same name but with different capitalization.

My concern is that the name has some type of memory like the character names and the PA names that would prevent me from naming myself GhostTown again, if I tried something new.

I won't try it.

Don't be scared. I've renamed my city about 40 times and can revert to any name. You can start as Ghosttown, rename to TempTown, and back to GhostTown without any problems.
