To become mayor I placed a house, joined the city and won the election against the encumbant Mayor. Now that I am Mayor doI have to keep the residence or does city hall count as the Mayor's residence.

Thanks in advance for your answers

If you are mayor, you are a citizen, regardless of if you have a house down.

City Hall is your primary residence. You don't really need a house and may remove your house.

Keep in mind, if you are voted out - you will also lose whatever you left inside City Hall as ALL the contents will now belong to the new mayor.
