Thread: If we can't have City Warn, Can't we at least have a working City Ban?

I've been a mayor since December, and I'm getting fed up with not being able to control major functions of my city. City Ban is pretty much useless. We are a rebel town, and we ban only ban overt imperials, guilds we've had problems with, and anyone just being ajerk in the city. Since we are right by Fort Tusken, our shuttle gets alot of use. I just love watching an overt that has been banned board my shuttle. They are able to do this because they buy a round trip ticket. So no matter how disruptive they are to my city, they can come and go as they please. And for absolutely free. The only thing city ban keeps them from doing is cloning. They are still able to use my shuttle, and enter my cantina and med center. What is the point of city banning someone?

I'm sick of the excuse that politicians have to wait for all the older professions to get fixed before we are paid any attention. There may not be as many politicians as combat professions, but a lot of combatantslive in a city and are in the militia. These city problems affect alot more players than just politicians.

I shouldn't have to wait until next fall to keep someone from using my shuttle. Is there any hope that city ban and shuttle use will be revamped with the GCW? I think it definitely applies. A banned person is able to fly into the city and fly out if they buy a round trip ticket. That is very useful for people raiding your city. You should not be able to purchase a ticket to a city that you are banned from. If you are banned, you should not have access to any of the city service whatsoever, including the shuttle and player own city structures like the cantina, theatre and hospital.

Also, when someone is banned, they are banned permanently, not just for 24 hours. This is good and bad. I like not having to ban the same people over and over again, but sometimes I'd just like to ban someone for a day. I think there should be both options. Either 2 seperate ban commands (one permanent), orif you are banned a certain number of times you become permanently banned.

The bright side is, if ban doesn't keep people out of your city, then enemy cities can't use it to keep you out either But really, it needs to be fixed.

First off, med centers and cantinas are private structures. Cityban doesn't stop entrance into them. As for the shuttle thing, yeah it's annoying.

Yes I know that they are privately owned structures, but they can only be placed in a city that meets certain requirements. The PC guide uses the term "commercial structures owned by players". If there were a seperate cantina or med center that were only placeable by mayor and a different structures for players to place I could see city ban not affecting entrance to them. But since there is not, city ban should keep people out of those structures as well. I'm a mayor and I own the cantina, and I'm sick of having to add people to the ban list in my cantina when I /cityban.
