I dont know about you other Politicians, but the maint on some of the city structures is too much. I think this needs to be revisited. Paying 10k a week for a small garden is a joke. The whole cost thing needs help. Maybe I am wrong here, but then again this is my opinion. LOL

Agree, I just inherited a large city, saw the bills and removed the gardens, sorry to do so, but they just are not needed

Our citizens love gardens, maybe because almost a half of our active citizens are females. The cost is220k per week which is pretty muchbut I think it's worth it. We have abeautiful city which our citizens love, partly because gardens are everywhere

I like the gardens, but the maint is just too much. I have us at a Research City for Sahara Moon. Total cost is 290k per week

Ammon is hitting near 400k a week. I'll all for the maint cost change. What would be nice is that the maint would be due at the time of the elections (every three weeks).
1,000c a week for a statue? In real life, $1,000 would be maint on a statue for like a year or longer. And skill trainers for 1k a week? That's some paycheck they're pocketing.

well, keep in mind that irl there aren't really many jobs that would net you 25k that you can do in 20 minutes O.o
city maintenance was meant to be a shared responsibility for the community. I know taxes are bonked right now (and yes, I still regularly bug devs about it), so your city might have to cut costs for a while. talk to your citizens about the burden of the treasury (I do every once in a while), and ask if they have any suggestions on fundraising and/or if anyone is willing to donate.

I have to agree with Traie. The maint is ridiculous for all. If you pay $52,000 a year in maint for a garden. Damn that is expensive. They need to reduce the costs.

The maintenance costs would be just fine if all of the taxes worked the way they should. Adding a kick-back to the city from terminals and trainers would also go a long way to making cities self-sufficient as they should be.

Have they ever not been "bonked"?

sales tax were broken during publish 9, before then they actually worked... and a lot of cities even gained surplus. I've brought this up over and over, but I haven't received any solid response besides that they acknowledge the problem and will work on it.

I have to agree. The terminals and trainers should give a certain percentage and the bank transfers to the city funds. That would be a great idea. I believe this was stated some where else. Player cities need revisiting, I think a major overhaul.
