I'm trying something a bit different in Temenos...

I've noticed that in many cities on my server there is a core group of 10-20 players who will form a city and then spam in NPC cities or go cross server to get enough "numbers" to get a shuttle {or whatever}. The life of the city remains that core group.

In Temenos I now have three neighborhoods... and everybody else. There is a Twi'Lek clan, a spacefaring guild, and one neighborhood with 9 people whose city crumbled. These groups have their own weekly events, they mostly play within their own group... and sometimes they interact with the neighbors.

Sorta like The Bowery, Chinatown, Chelsea, Tri-Becca... for those that don't know, those are very distinct parts of Manhattan, NYC.

7 months ago we had a group of 10-20 break away to form their own city. Took us down to 57 residents. We were on the edge of losing our shuttle for months.

Last night we made Metropolis again! This seems to be working.

It is =very= different running this kind of city. Not everyone is on the same team. There are conflicting wants and needs.

Sorta like a real city...

I'm not going to say it's all fun, because the audience here would know I was lying. But it has been interesting.
