I could use some pointers.
-How do i remove fountains
-The maint cost are 750K a week. i added sales tax 6% and 100 shuttle fee. Vendors are voicing!!!
- the prior mayor was super rich so there were no taxes. I am saving the city as a good deed and not as rich.?
- If i take down cantina/hospital or whatever i assume i'll have to wait until i have the skill level to place, correct?
- Am i stuck with all the houses of citizens that don't play anymore?
Any pointers would be awesome.
Thanks

-How do i remove fountains
Select the fountain and open up the radial menu. Select the option to 'remove decoration'. Bear in mind that if you remove it you will not be able to replace it until you have the decorative skill box.

Sales tax is and has always been broken, so you may as well keep your vendors happy by leaving it at 0% until it is fixed.
The best way (in my opinion) to help a city pay for itself is getting citizens to sponsor various items. See the 'Treasury Tool' link in my signature. If you do not have Excel download OpenOffice.

Fair comment. The city belongs to all that live in it so you should not be expected to fork out of your own pocket.

Correct.
- Am i stuck with all the houses of citizens that don't play anymore?
Yes, you are. Yes, we know it sucks!
Good luck!

I have to Correct this. Cantina and Hospital are placed by regular players, not by the mayor. They are bound to the rank of the city, not the skills of the mayor. So for one you won't be able to take them down, since you are not the owner, and secondly it won't save you any money.

Correct.
[edit]
Structures that you as mayor can pick up and place (but need skills to place) are bank, garage, clone center, shuttleport and gardens. These will also save you more money, but everything except gardens are also very importent to have since the citizens of the city will want something for the money they pay through taxes
[/edit]
As for the fountains, one of these decorations only costs 1.5k maintenance per week. If you really want to save money look at which gardens you can take down first, as these cost 10k for a small and 20k for a medium per week. And don't worry to press "Delete Structure" because you will get the deed back for any civic building you pick up (execpt city hall) ... but remember: here you need skills to place these buildings again!
As a quick fix for filling the city treasury with taxes you should try something around 1500-2000cr income tax and 20-30% property maintenance - but only if your sure your active citizens won't run away because of this (but I'd rather pay some 30% more house maintenance, than 6% more sales tax that isn't even going into the city treasury).
In our Metropolis with good 100 citizens and some 250 buildings 10% property tax brings in about 150k. so 20% should bring in 300k + 1.5k income x 100 cititzens = 450k ... that should balance out a healthy maintenance (with not to many gardens).

Great responses. Thanks for taking the time.
-The problem i had with the fountains and garden(only 1 i tried) was i couldn't click on them to get a radial menu. Seems half in the ground half out. /bugged?
If maint is bugged then forget it.
Ima thinking the only people there are the tent owners and merchants. About 12 tents.
How do i send out emails to all citizens? Please don't tell me i gotta forward to each 1 by 1 lol.
Any planed changes on the way guys?
Thanks again for the answers & help :-)

Dont forget, that even if you are a Novice Mayor, structures placed by a previous, higher level mayor will stay in place. You just would be able to replace any items you pull up unless you have the necessary skill.
