if anyone has an inner ear problem, gets motion sickness, or just can't handle "snappy" movement like me, don't go onto TC right now. I logged onto TC and got pretty dizzy after walking around for a bit... I ended up spending most of my time chatting with folks while sitting in the cantina O.o the only trip I made was to the city hall to check on the city's treasury and current stats.
earlier this week I sent out an email about our treasury, and so far I haven't received much feedback. one of our citizens put 5m into the treasury (thanks), and the other folks (who wrote back) expressed agreement on a 1-2k income tax. one person mentioned they don't like lotteries, which I suggested as one of the possible city funding ideas. I asked my secretary (who manages our loot vendor) and he says we do get a decent income from it... it doesn't cover the whole bill, but every little bit helps
last but not least, while I appreciate input on the profession, please don't find me in game for it. I also will not give info that's under NDA to anyone anywhere, handle CSR situations (I have no power to!), or (unless it's someone I already know) answer questions in game.
anyone tried out any of the player event perks in their city yet? how do you like them?

I'm happy to announce this election term had the greatest amount of voter turn-out to date! I was surprised to find that some long time citizens never went into City Hall, and therefore didn't know HOW to vote since the voting had changed.
Monday we held our decorating contest. We didn't have a large amount of entries, but the ones we had were great and it encouraged some citizens who were new to take a look around at their neighbors houses, and to decorate their homes as well. We are embarking on a reorganization of our vendor tents in the city, which is being lead by a militia member. He's also taken the time to compile a comprehensive list of vendors. Its something I had been meaning to do, but never had the time. I'm really enjoying the help!
We've played around with player event perks some. I love the jukebox! Our lottery droid was up for a week. Neither the winner or the placer of the droid have any idea how much money was made at the end of the lottery because no message or email was received, and they didn't pay attention to their own accounts.
Respectfully,

As far was whats going on in Stargate this week - Alot of us got involved with the GCW - we are currently ironing out some kinks - trying to figure out how a city can truly remain neutral and yet still have fun and participate. We got a handful of new citizens and some old ones returned to the game (very encouraging).
I was finally able to take down the last merchant tent - the empty vendors left finally poofed - and we are all situated in our shopping mall now.
The city is going to be sponsoring a PVP Tournament this month so alot of time is going into that. Treasury is doing a bit better since we implemented higher property tax - we are almost... almost covering our weekly expenses with that and with sales from our loot vendor. Some merchants have gotten together and are not dropping 5% of their sales into the treasury even though we are no longer charging sales tax. They and I both wish it was fixed.

I've tried the Imperial Shuttle, Factional Banners, one of the stages, and the jukebox.
The shuttle was cool. The jukebox rocked. But the others just wasted time/money. They seem to require way too much room to place, making them not real pheasible (sp?) for using in most player cities. I had to pull up a couple of gardens/streetlamps to get the shuttle in.
Also, I think it'd be nice to get the jukebox to last longer (maybe 24hours?) OR allow it to be used by more than one person. While I had it in, I seemed to be the only one who could change the song. So if I put it on the ewok song and left, anyone coming in during that 8 hour time frame would have to listen to that one song.
Another thing - is there a way to make the time limit start from time of placing it rather than from the time you get it?
I'm trying to set up something with a "sister" city for a capture the flag event. Or possibly get a stage or two or place another cantina and have a music festival. But that's further down range. So far so good. Now how about making some trees or other plants to make the city more "pretty"? ![]()
