In my experience since launch, I have found the some of the most rewarding things for me in SWG are thos things the DO NOT grant me experience points, DO NOT grant me a badge, DO NOT drop loot and DO NOT make me a lot of credits.
I am talking about interraction. Wether it be with my friends/guild or a person I had never met, the community is the strongest draw for me in this game.
So......
Recently I bacame a polotition to become mayor. Not because I wanted to "run" the city, not because I needed extra attention, rather because the city needed it. I simply thoughtI could live up to it,to act as a decent representative of this fair city on Dantooine. In this short time it has given methat chance to interact more with others. Hopefully through this my guild/city can grow an even stronger bond with the members. It's worth a shot eh?
One thing I am seeing is that the skills for the polotition are simply tools alter the theme of a city. There are no skills that we get that allow usto "do" anything special. I am seeing now that a person with novice polotition could quite possibly develop a great city without ever training another skill. It would not have many fancy attractions, a shuttle or pretty gardens. But, a thriving community could still be built. If the temperment is right, and that individual got support from his/her community.
I guess what I am trying to say is I see a lot of possibilities with the responsibility of mayorship. I am going to let the guild/citizens run the city, they will make all the decisions, I will carry out the wishes and the community we build can prosper.
If all that fails... I SHALL RULE WITH AN IRON FIST!!!!!!!
that last line was just in case any of them read this... hehehehehehe

It is good to know there are people running to help out their friends in game. but just so you know politicianDOES grant xp, DOES give you a badge at master, DOES NOT drop loot andDEFINATELY DOES NOT make anyone a lot of credits unless you or they steal from the treasury at 50k a day

I totally understand that... I am refering to the activities over the professions 
Meaning as a politition I may get xp, and will soon get my badge, but the pull for me is the interaction. Putting myself in a position to help people. I get nothing for placing a trainer or granting someone rights to drop a new house... but when their play experience is enhanced it is very rewarding indeed
