I'm currently in a bit of a bind with my city. The last mayor turned off zoning before I took over the city and we had a cluster of harvesters and a large house spring up in a previously undeveloped part of the city. He has also gone MIA since I took over. The problem is that the harvesters and the house have nothing to tell me who owns them, so I've no way to contact the owners. The owner of the house didn't declare residence either. :/
I tried submitting a ticket to ask for the player names so I could send them e-mails, and was told that CSRs could not give out account info. O_o This one also said I should just wait for the maintenance to empty...+5 points for salt in the wound since that won't happen now. I refined my request by asking for in game names, or the e-mails that are sent to the mayor at the time a structure is placed within the city. I got the response that they don't log the e-mails and the ticket was closed.
I've also placed gungan head statues by the structures asking that the owners e-mail me (in the name), but they have been there for a month without success. The citizens in the area also have no idea of who placed these structures.
I'm wondering if this has happened to others, and how they resolved it. I would have thought it would be within boundaries for the CSR to provide a name since the game does that by default when structures are placed, but they either don't want to bother with it or have some silly guideline against it. It's getting to be rather hard to walk by these things since they're kinda in the middle of things, and having prime land blocked with abandoned harvesters is particularly painful....

Honestly, there isn't much you can do other than hope for the promised character purge (and that those structures would be included). Even if you had an in-game name, most likely the structures are abandoned by an inactive character. With the new maintenance deduction, the owner receives daily e-mails about maintenance being taken out. So it'll keep going until the character's account is drained, which could take a very long time.

Yeah, could be a very long time ive had this house outside my city from when we first put it down.. If we go metro it will be in the city so you really cant win.

Same problem. Someone put a small house right next to my shuttle. The last mayor had taken off zoning for a small time. No one knows who the person is. Their name is ilex on sunrunner, so if anyone knows this person, please let me know! :-)
I really wish they would give poli's more options in the way of cleaning out old houses. It frustrates all of us.
