Hello!

I'm seeking help on behalf of a friend. She is the Mayor of a fairly well sized (it will have a shuttleport soon!)town on Tattooine, Wanderhome Server. She helped build this town a long time ago, and is very proud of it.

However, due to certain vocal minorites in the town, the job she has taken has become an exhausting one. She would like to retire, but there are enough people who do *not* vote to prevent her from ever leaving. She has several people who would like to assume the job, but none of them have a majority larger than the amount of people that don't vote.

Is there a way for her to leave? She has thought about outright quitting and dropping her Master Politician skills, but doesn't want to destroy the town she loves, especially before they advance to Shuttleport level. Is there anything that can be done in this situation?

I don't think staying a Politician should be cumpulsory, and it has begun to ruin the game for her. If anyone knows what to do, please respond, and thank you in advance.

I am attempting to transfer the office to my Alt at the moment. We have 120 residents but many players share buildings so the population is a little higher. In any case 120 of these people can and have voted for me at one point.

I use the email function and write to : citizens. I send out weekly updates that talk about the progress of the city and have used this tool to ask for residents to vote for my Alt.

We have a very active website based around the guild that founded the city but used by two smaller guilds in the city and neighbors or friends. The people using the website have seen my messages and all of them agree to vote for the alt.

Still, I can't seem to get a 51% majority to vote for the alt! It's just human nature I suppose. Everyone is willing and they intend to get around to it but never do. Sometimes they think they voted but don't understand they have to re-vote every week when the Alt looses the race.

I think if I deleted my main character the Alt might win by then again maybe even then it would not work. In any case I won't be doing that. Without any tools provided by SOE it is next to impossible to transfer power from a Mayor to a hopefull. Even in a situation where the city is willing to assist in the process it may not be possible.

Oh I forgot to mention one additional setback:

Often when voting, the vote will always go to the Incumbent no matter what. I had a resident give up after 3 attempts but the next day she was able to finaly register the vote for my Alt.

Another resident tried to log in and out but every vote went to my primary.

It seems that if they try another day the vote will record correctly.
