Thread: A Politician Leaving
I fought the extremely unpleasant workload.
I am one of the most famous Mayors on Ahazi.
I am trapped in trying to leave this position.
Leaving Mayorship.
I won't buy a second account just to play this game.

I'm confused... you are quitting because of the workload? the skillpoint obligation on your 'main' (hence the need for an alt)? because you're frustrated with the mayor abilities?
But you'll do it if you're compensated 80 million? Leading me to think you don't feel adequately compensated at your current city?
None of the flowery language please... speak to me like I had no idea what you're talking about.
Like I said on your native thread... I feel your pain and understand your disorder.
I have been frustrated enough in the past to pursue a similar course of action.... I haven't yet... I've been working with my city for a year and a half and I'm kind of attached to it... and the site code I've written to... the project has become a child of mine after this long, but I admit I know how it feels to look at the whole system and think... "For what?"
As mayor, my city had become a center for roleplay and player events for the server.
The city was too difficult to maintain with the current tools however, and if I were to continue to devote 90% of my online time with the job on my single account, I would ask to be compensated in proportion to my talents.
The 80 million credits/pearls/Jedi help offer was a bit of a joke by one city, but the discussion has moved to an actual negotiation.
In that case, I would continue on as mayor (a position I am good at), and the compensation would allow me to continue to work toward my Jedi and get a second character, which has been my goal for some time.
At any event, the one thing that will not change is that I will continue my RP and Events work, which is really what I want to do with my time there.
I'm afraid I can't make it any less flowery than that.

Either being paid millions of credits to endure mayor again, or I am going the route of most ex-mayors and becoming a hermit.

if your new citizens are more cooperativethan your current city, prehaps you might not have to "endure" it ![]()
Sorry to see you leave Maris Paradis though, I know how much work you put in and how you've started planning forMP waaaay before player cities were available. You've come a long way... don't let that mayoring talent go to waste ![]()
You know I had hoped that you had made this overly dramitic exit from being a mayor in an effort to draw light to the fact that Player Cities and the Politician profession needs some serious help. But I'm getting the distict impression that this is just your ego talking. so all I have to say is...
can I have your stuff?

Funny.
Nope, I am indicating what it takes to get someone to take this position, just as you suggested. My role here in the forums is to take the insignificant things that no one cares about (Politician profession, Bacta vs. Cloning, Chests not Backpacks), and bring them to the fore.

Edit: The sad news is I can't seem to actually escape being a mayor. Without the ability to resign and move on, I have NO option in the matter. My character is being held hostage. Obviously, this is my ego talking. ![]()
