Thread: Space Expansion: I've got a bad feeling about this

After reading the initial press release on the IGN interview regarding the space expansion, I can honestly say that I am underwhelmed.

Does anybody else have the sinking feeling that all this will consist of is a spaceshooter?

Space Stations do not seem to exist as mentioned by the comment that players must return to the planets for repairs and to sell space-loot.

Where are our player operated space-stations? Our 'cities' in space? I would have hoped that 'if one chose to', that they would be always able to remain in space and never venture back to the ground.

I know it's early but I fear that this is going to be a bare-bones rollout pretty much limited to a 'shooter' and some new shipbuilder/pilot professions.

I hope I'm wrong.

I think it would be awsome if they gave politcians an elite class and let us be on the only ones who couldcontrol capital ships.

Well I can dream at least

Dont expect them to give out all info on day 1. Just becuse it was not mention today it do not mean it never gonna show up.

You are absolutely correct DreamWatcher, this was really my thought...

The above statement was actually just a parody of my own thoughts on the matter... but seriously I am sure they have a TON of info yet to release... the article wasn't very long or involved.

Actually, IMHO that's not a totally unreasonable idea. After all, it is canon...Lando was Cloud City's City Administrator, and that was a space station of sorts (actually an orbiting gas mining installation...but you get the idea). I am not a politican and, no offense intended, I have no desire to become one. However, I think it would be a great idea to give you the option of becoming a station administrator in the space expansion.

based upon soe's prior performance though, i don't expect any of these 'added features' to be included in the initial launch. I much more perceive it to be a 'down the line' thing.... like cities were in the basic game.

It's sad if they don't launch with this. The core codign shouold be there.

Give up PC space stations! Don't let this end up as just a shooter expansion!

Don't worry too much yet...

We have plenty of time to worry in the months before release, while we listen to the stories from the new beta group.

:crosses fingers hoping to be a part of the new beta group

As much as i would like to see space stations implemented from the go, i have to agree that i imagine they will be released later in the game. If the space expansion is released and we can fully survive in space then could you imagine how deserted the planets would be?.
