Happy New Year!
all quiet on the SWG front... I think the devs are out, and TC's been down on and off so I haven't been able to log on much. I'm getting into the habit of registering every 3 weeks, and so far the elections ran smoothly. there isn't much to report aside from that.
I know most of you guys (including me) have to go back to work/school today, so don't get too stressed out
did any of you guys do any new years celebration? any resolutions for you and your cities?
Our new year's celebration was getting a shuttleport. New Year's day the 55th person entered into town. Which should really pick up the traffic in the place. We've gotten another 5 since then. The city/guild is growing tighter every day. It is great to see people there all the time.

the post for that is here, and looks like Seani's already working on it
-- This week in Aurora --
Janurary 6th, 2005
General News:
It has been a long while since Aurora posted an update -- so here is the first oneof this year.
Aurora is a great Rebel metropolis on Naboo. Though the planet is overrun with Imperially aligned players, Aurora remains a sanctuary for Rebel players with over 90% of our community aligned towards the Rebel cause. More and more of Aurora is joiing the fight every night. This effort has been lead by the BOTD Military Activity Council, the E-Den Council and other leaders from Aurora. The city's GCW activity continues to be very quiet, as a result of theexpansion and the continuing Jedi grind. Many of our finest GCW participants have left the war to seek out the path of the jedi.
2005 Citizen Survey
Building an online community is a difficult thing to do, and to do it correctly is almost impossible. To help the community of Aurora grow to meet the demands of its citizens the city has surveyed those nice people that choose to call Aurora their online home. We use the results from these surveys to develop new events and ways to make our citizens enjoy their limited online time.
Aurora is planning its 3rd survey sinch the establishment of our community. This survey will focus on many of the same aspects of our community such as player demographcis and in-game styles of play, but we will now look at the Jedi and JTLS aspects of SWG.
The full report of our last surveyof 2004 can be found here:

City Businesses and Merchants:
Aurora is a zero sales tax city. This means lower prices on every item on the vendors in Aurora. Stop by and check out what the 20+ vendors are selling. The Aurora mall offers high quality products, at low prices and is only a 1 minute ride from Moenia, or a quick shuttle trip through the Aurora Shuttle port. The vendors are restocked every few days and the city is seeing a steady stream of customers to our citizen's vendors. With such great vendor selling Deeds,Vehicles, Powerups, Spaceships, Lighting,Furniture,Droids, Clothing,Medical Supplies, Smuggler Supplies and all the othernumerous miscellaneous items, Aurora is able to offer high quality goods and products at low prices. The business district is immediatly west of the shuttle port when you arrive in Aurora. Across from the mall you will find our cantina where you can enjoy a frosty mug of Jawa Beer while you heal your wounds. Stop by and get that item you have been looking for!
City Finances:
With the new tax structure in place the city is earning approximately 50,000 credits per day. The city continues to remove gardens every week prior to the maintenance cycle. This reduces the maintenance costs by 250k. It is unfortunate that taxes are not sufficient to support the city with all its gardens in place. We hope to get more gardens sponsored and the new city plan is designed with this in mind. Our current budget without placed decorations is 476,000 per week with an avg revenue of 481,000 per week from taxes.
The Hadrian Augustus Foundation for Fiscal Balancing continues to support the city treasury on an as needed basis. Donations have put our city treasury over the 1.5million mark. Thanks to everyone that has helped by donatingmoneis to the city treasury. People like you help make this a great community.
Galactic Civil War:
The civil war has moved out of Aurora in recent months. With players jumping into space to fight Imperials in ship-to-ship combat little effort has been made to establish Rebel bases in Aurora. The strategic planning for Aurora's GCW activities during 2005 is underway and we expect to have established bases in Auroraas well as a focused effort in space by the end of February. With little in the way of acheivable goals or rewards available in the GCW (thanks for nothing SOE) we are left to our own devices and hope that we can sustain a substantial amount of effort regarding the GCW while other major powers on Flurry are moving away from the GCW.

City Event Guide:
That is about all that is happening this week in our great community.
