I don't know if this has been posted before or what, but some of the fees associated with city items. For example, Stupid statues, why on God's green earth would we have to pay maint. on them. They req. no up keep. The fees for some of this stuff is absolutely absurd on it. I think some of the fees need to be reduced and the items we pay for out of the city funds.

Gotta pay maintaince for everything in a city. Don't ask me why, but we do. Even my little strange statue I placed.
Personally, I don't really mind paying maintaince for decorations. But the decoration limit needs to be upped quite a bit or removed completly.

I have to agree with you both. Maint. in a city is way to bank money and it has to be spent at some point, unless the mayor takes it out. LOL I think it is just rediculous to pay some of the amounts. Oh well, just a game.

Database issues will cap it no matter what. I think the decor is one of the main reasons there is a rank 3 and 4 cap actually. However the maintenance is simply to give adrain to the game.
Too many credits go in (although the solo group change may slow that) and not enough go out, they just change hands. Traveling, (JtL nulls this alot) item decay, and maintenance are the only drains that exist. Well like I said travel pretty much is gone costwise with ships so now it is based on item decay and their subsequent substitution (crates of food and med-ware plus suits of armor and weapons) however that doesn't happen terribly often and it is primarilly just putting more credits into the system and not taking them out.
Every credit in the game, barring the 250 you start with and the 75k gift, has come from a mission of some sort. Combatants are the primary faucet for creds into the game doing destroy missions, they are also the ones that fuel the crafting economy and grind out a new million for that suit of armor in as short a time they can simply spending time and shifting 1 mil into a crafter's account where it will sit and not leave the game for a good while.
The only true drain on the economy is maintaining structures. Since cities are the "end game" of communities and structure intense even regarding the decor it is the best place to get people to "dump" their money. Fill up the treasury and voila those 10 mil credits are out of reach now, invisible to the game at large. Getting people who are "done" with the rest of the game to concentrate and focus on getting a nice place to set up shop meaning it will be even pricier is just more incentive to keep prices high for maintaining a city and keeping the drain on.

I understand about the database... but still... I've seen way too many dark cities that gave up lighting just to have a few statues and fountains. And then I've seen cities that have given up decorations for lighting. Both of these cities look horrible. A city without lights is hard to navigate around at night, and doesn't look very pretty at night. A city without decorations isn't eye-catching or pretty to look at.
I've tried to decorate my city and light it as well. I've tried to even out between lights and decorations, but at rank 3 it's nearly impossbile. Some parts of the city are barren without decortions while other parts of the city are pitch-dark at night, and still other parts have nothing. I've tried to do my best, but it isn't easy. If the Devs raised the decoration limit up just a little, it would make life easier and make cities really flourish with both lights and decor. You'd be suprised how much of a difference those two little things can make.

I agree that the limit set on decorations is very low. It seems the limit needs to be raised significantly inorder to provide lighting for all city streets. Also, now that the game is older there are more heros to celebrate with statues and gardens, again calling for a significant raise in the decoration limit for each city level.
It seems to me that a higher limit would also help remove credits from the game. If a city can afford more decorations, they should be able to place them.
Is there some way we can have someone look at raising the limit of city decorations?
