Thread: Is the Politician Correspondent actually a Mayor?

I ask this because I was trying to find any reference to Bajeezus and the player city he is the mayor of, but was unable to. Heck couldn't even find out his name (or her name?). Would it be possible to elaborate further on this?

He's a Mayor on TestCenter, too, as well as a Production server.

Why the secrecy? It's not like I don't think he's doing a good job or any some such. But I would like to see how he interacts on the forums and so forth with other cities and mayors on his server, but apparently he has never used the forums to communicate one thing about his city on the forums, yet he posts all the time now. Strange.

Ok he's a mayor on Chilastra correct?

Does he have two accounts one of which is the mayor(/merchant/crafter)? If he does, how does he relate to those of us that are unwilling to buy a second account just to function in a limited support role? If he doesn't, disregard obviously.

It is impossible fora Correspondent to relate to all situations that fellow Politicians are in. This is why we have a Politician forum, where we can share problems, ideas, and circumstances. I don't think we need the correspondent to "play a certain way", as long as he is indeed playing and in close contact with the Politician community, and effectivelyconveying our feedback to the devs.

Hi Padre. Thanks for the curiosity.

I've been a mayor since day-one of player cities. I've enjoyed it enormously, and have been totally captivated by the potential to build virtual communities in the Star Wars universe since the concept was first in discussion on the pre-release dev boards. I couldn't think of a sphere of the game on which I would rather be able to work as a correspondent.

I made Master Politician a few weeks ago, but have since then dropped a few skills, and am now working on a Politician character on TC so that I can always have access to those skills and features for testing, regardless of what I do with my live server character.

I am a Mayor on the Chilastra server, but you are right to note that you probably won't see me much on the Chilastra forums. I primarily use game mail for correspondence between my mayor character and the other mayors on my planet or on chilastra, instead of the forums. I like to keep much of my mayoral activity in-character, and make lots of announcements, proclaimations, etc, via game mail and in a RP mode. That accounts for my lack of communication via the forums with other mayors prior to my becoming a correspondent, and now that I am a correspondent, not only is any free time for posting taken up here, but I'm not sure that it would be appropriate for me to start posting requests for purchasing ore for my city with my correspondent tag on.

My character name isn't secret, and I think there are probably people who know it, so it isn't too much to ask. But given the level of mayor-related business I already deal with in game, its nice to be able to log on for some fun gameplay without having correspondent business in my mailbox. So, I don't think I'll publicize it.

and if I may, Padre, you don't know how jealous I am of you guys for havin' Baj around. Bajeesus, on the old boards, was one of the most productive and insightful posters. His posts were usually well thought out, organized, and intricate and he always considered the otherside. In fact I can't remember him every being even remotely combatitive in tone on any issue, even on the Beta Any Topic boards.

I know you were just curious, but sometimes I get old vet's lag and can't understand how some of these old timers are unknown to people. I just wanna go, "come on! it's Baj!" I'll go shuffle off to the old poster's home and gum my biscuits and coffee now.

I don't blame Baj one bit for wanting to keep his ingame name private. Everyone deserves to have some time to just play & relax.
