What are your thoughts on ways to accomplish this? Our city has lost the mayor due to a dead computer that won't soon be replaced. We have know method of contacting our mayor and the email address he's left is not working. It's a crisis that's cost us a dozen citizens to a new startup city on a new planet. As you can imagine this is causing the few actives left to become very nervous because now we have no chance of beating the incumbent AFK mayor. Please post here if you'd had any luck contacting CSR's on this issue or if you have any plans? For the record, if the city limits contract we'll be without buildable lots for a new populace to replace the afk citizens. This prevents the 3 week auto-declassification of citizenship patch useless.

Let me tell you this, we absolutely LOVE our jobs. And we LOVE this game. We are dedicated to doing whatever we can to enhance your play experience. And it usually only takes one fan's blood to drift off...

There are very few options available to you Snikrop, and I am sorry to hear your home is in such a bad position. The CSRs will not help you will this, your population is going to be on its own to resolve the problem. You are not left without a course of action, however. BTW, the patch notes state that the auto-declassification of citizenship will be 6 weeks, not 3 as the devs had originially intended to implement.

Were I in your position and had to pull this off I would be considering a few things before hand. First, set it in your mind that what you are trying to accomplish is a difficult goal, be prepared for many setbacks, and set the expectations of your population that way. Second, you (or your next Politican candidate) will have to rally your remaining population into staying and moving forward. This is extremely important - you will be depending on these people to pull off this plan. If anyone is less than dedicated I'd do everything short of packing their bags for them to get them away from the dedicated ones you have left.

With that done your group will need to work together to scour the galaxy for new citizens. Have a vision for the citizens to tell your potential residents about (i.e. Our Town is looking to play a large part in the GCW and we are looking for dedicated players to join us; or maybe Our Town is growing to become the largest hub of vendors and crafters in the galaxy; etc.). Stress to your recruiters that they are looking for active players that they would not mind living next to- active players you are already learning the importance of, and telling recruiters that if they bring someone in they'd better beokay with living next to will make them more selective. Place new houses close to the center of the radius whenever possible. Ask the new residents to vote for your replacement candidate each week - eventually you should succeed.

You have a limited amount of time to do this. As you pointed out you are at risk of losing available space if the city radius contracts. I think if you are determined about it and can gather like minded folks to work together with you there is a strong chance you can replace that mayor. Time is not your friend now though. This situation calls for quick thinking, good decisions, and great people skills. If your town is worth fighting to keep and your candidate is worththeirtitle of mayor I'm sure you can pull it off.

I'm sorry, you seem to think we have buildable lots in the city radius that can be used. 6 weeks from today our city will be gone. SOE did nothing to help fix their mess. F S C K I N G U N B E L I E V E A B L E when we get comments from SOE like "The Player City patch was well received." I guess they don't plan to help or fix anything with this as it's stale and they need to work on new content or combat fixes. I can assure anyone listening that we can't afford to run our city for six weeks while all of the structures clustered around city hall decay so we can start a new. Wow does this Player City/politician system represent a fine example of the "Put it in, we'll patch/nerf it later" mentality that drives SOE/Lucas Arts

We ran into the same problem in our city. Our mayor had repeated excuses as to why he was not on. Of course the problems were worse (because when he was on, he wouldn't talk to anyone and any idea tha someone had he cut them off and told them he wouldn't do it). We lost about 20 citizens to this because their wants were not satisfied. So i took it upon myself to run in the next election because I was tired of the same old bull schmidt. I sent an email out announcing my election to the entire city and then followed up by sending tells saying, "Hi there, just wanted to know if you had any questions about my candidacy, etc." Then i finished up the convo closing their support and having them go vote. In one night I had the majority, the people were so stoked that they went right to the box and told their friends to go vote, yadda.

I hope this helps with your problem, but this is the only remedy that you really have. It was a pain to stay on as long as I could just waiting for citizens to show up on line and talking to them, but it was well worth it and the city is already growing again.

Best of luck
