Starting a city is hard work. People generally want alot of things, and you end up in Tell Hell when it is starting up. I am the leader of my guild and the mayor of a metropolis on my server. People are going to make alot of demands of your time.

When you start off you will want to restrict your zoning laws so only you and your trusted militia can drop buildings. That means that you will be tethered to your spot for when new citizens want to move in. Next they are gonna want stuff, trainers, terminals, cloning facility, a shuttleport. You will have to spell out your plan on when those things are going to happen, if they are going to happen. Next you have to figure out a budget. My city requires a weekly maintenance of nearly 500k. We have a subsidy program in place to keep taxes non-existent, are you going to do a similar thing or are you going to regulate fiscal policy.

Don't get me wrong. I love my city. I look at it as a source of pride for my gameplay. But some days you may just want to log on and kill stuff, but you are accountable to your citizens and partly on call to make sure stuff happens right.

I hope that helps in making your decision.
